Senior Live Event Technology Specialist
Paramount
• Lead and support 24/7 global live streaming operations for Tier-1 events (sports, entertainment, special broadcasts). • Make real-time operational decisions, coordinate service partners, and guide Live Event Operators during live transmissions. • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot end-to-end streaming workflows across acquisition, encoding, packaging/origin, CDN distribution, and QoS/QoE monitoring. • Act as the primary operational contact during live events, proactively identifying and resolving issues (latency, buffering, playback failures, degradation etc) and coordinating escalations across engineering, vendors, and network partners. • Collaborate cross-functionally on high-severity incidents, prioritizing rapid mitigation while driving root-cause resolution. • Perform pre-event validation, rehearsals, and post-event reviews to ensure readiness and continuous improvement. • Prepare concise operational and incident reports for stakeholders and senior leadership. • Maintain runbooks, knowledge base, and training documentation to standardize operations. • Support onboarding, testing, and rollout of new streaming technologies, workflows, and vendor solutions. • Ensure compliance with SLAs, security requirements, and broadcast-quality standards, including participation in on-call rotations.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in live streaming operations, broadcast operations, or OTT delivery environments
- Experience supporting Tier-1 live events with real-time monitoring, incident response, and escalation management.
- Hands-on experience operating large-scale live streaming workflows
- Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end streaming pipelines across acquisition, encoding, packaging, origin, and distribution layers.
- Familiarity with QoS/QoE monitoring tools, playback analytics, and stream performance diagnostics.
- Strong incident management, documentation, and communication skills in high-pressure live production environments.
- Familiarity with video transport protocols (zixi, SRT, RIST, RTP etc), Video Encoding/Packaging, Basic networking concepts.
- Familiarity with DRM, ad insertion (SSAI), and live event redundancy strategies
- Proficiency with HLS/DASH streaming, MPEG-TS/fMP4, DRM basics, SCTE-35 signaling, and ad insertion workflows.

This role manages logistical and administrative tasks efficiently and effectively while contributing to the success of the Production Department by maintaining accurate records, completing assigned job duties in a timely manner and seeking out new ways to support team members. The Production Coordinator reports to the Senior Director, Program Production. Key Job Responsibilities Event Pre-Production and On-site team Support • Assist in scheduling and coordination of staffing and resources. • Assist in timesheet completion and tracking project related hours. • Partner with Producers and Production Managers on event logistics. • Support the show team (Producer, PM) with owning the kick-off & tie down meetings, scheduling client and show team calls. • Create and maintain electronic show folders / channels (project management tools) from each project’s inception, file past show folders and maintain directory. • Travel coordination for show crews. • Track tasks, milestones, and deadlines within the project management tool. • Assist in collection and organization of show related content (graphic files, video files and still photos). • Occasional travel and show-site support required. • Back up traveling shows management team members when they are out of office. • Open and process Purchase Orders. • Define and set up new vendors/part timers. • Attend pre and post show meetings for job sign off. • Perform other duties as assigned. Post-Event • Finalization of timesheets and tracking project related hours. • Assist in completion of post-show reports. • Assist in completion and verification of deliverables, media, etc. • Completion of expense reports and finalizing job related expenses. Job Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience • 2+ years of Production or Show Experience required. • Excellent communication skills including written, oral and presentation. • Ability to listen carefully, respond intelligently, and follow up appropriately and consistently. • Position requires computer knowledge. • Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable and team oriented. • Detail and service oriented with strong organizational skills. • Ability to consistently meet deadlines. • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
