Technical Product Manager, Data Oriented

• Get a deep understanding of business objectives to define the roadmap of the Data Science team • Oversee multiple concurrent data science projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery • Create and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and resource allocation plans • Implement agile methodologies to improve team velocity and output quality • Track KPIs and provide regular status updates to leadership • Identify and mitigate project risks before they impact deliverables • Manage and coordinate the data science team (currently 3 members) • Provide clear direction and accountability for all team members • Facilitate collaboration between data science, engineering, and client teams • Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to ensure alignment • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training or hiring needs • Pressure test data science proposals and methodologies for feasibility • Review and QA data analyses, dashboards, and research outputs • Ensure technical deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements • Collaborate with engineers on dashboard development using modern tools (including AI coding assistants like Claude) • Drive adoption of AI tools to increase team productivity • Oversee the research paper publication pipeline • Ensure white papers and studies are accurate, impactful, and delivered on schedule • Coordinate with marketing on research distribution and thought leadership • Identify opportunities for new data studies based on client needs and market trends • Serve as primary point of contact for data science project requests • Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders • Manage expectations and communicate project status effectively • Build strong relationships with internal teams and key clients

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in data science or analytics
  • Proven track record of managing technical teams and complex projects
  • Experience with dashboard development and data visualization projects
  • Background in managing research or publication processes (preferred)
  • Ideally from a technical background
  • Understanding of data science methodologies and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with BI tools and dashboard platforms
  • Experience with AI tools and automation
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Asana, ClickUp, etc.)
  • Ability to create business and product Dashboards that surface metrics and insights with minimal oversight
  • Basic understanding of Python, SQL, or similar (enough to assess feasibility)
  • Familiarity with Agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursors (preferred)
