Refrigeration Application Engineer
SPX Corporation
• Provide technical support to sales representatives, distributors, contractors and end-users and internal departments • Advise and assist field sales personnel and their clients on product technical details, application requirements, etc. to obtain solutions of specific application problems • Deliver technical training support to internal and external personnel when required • Determine accurate information and calculations as associated with each sales order • Develop effective strategies based on thorough analysis of project variables, thus maximizing the likelihood of winning jobs • Evaluate needs of the customer and provide technical solutions that best fit the company’s product portfolio • Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements • Provide product support information/ direction from existing manuals, bulletins and guides • Respond to quote requests (functional, technical, and pricing elements) in a timely manner • Assist in pricing special options • Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamlining technical support procedures • Assist product development in developing new and/or enhanced products by communicating trends, needs and issues in the marketplace • Participate in other duties that relate to the overall goals of the department as assigned
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration or related field
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Fundamental knowledge in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
- Familiarity with HVAC and refrigeration systems, especially with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Good understanding of technical and commercial project variables with the ability to proactively initiate action based on that understanding
- Strong technical aptitude
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, preferred

Clinical Decision Support tools are used across the Mayo enterprise and rely heavily on integration with a wide range of Epic applications, including Orders, Clinical Documentation, ASAP, Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, Anesthesia, and Genomics (including pharmacogenomics and genomic indicators). These integrations require complex system design and build, as well as strong partnerships with Informatics, clinical stakeholders, and practice liaisons. This role supports both foundational and advanced CDS capabilities. Core responsibilities include the design, build, and maintenance of Our Practice Advisories (OPAs, formerly BestPractice Advisories [BPAs]), as well as other CDS interventions such as Care Paths and Health Maintenance. These tools play a critical role in delivering timely, actionable guidance within clinical workflows. In addition, this position will contribute to the advancement of Epic Cognitive Computing, supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of intelligent decision support solutions.
