Solutions Architect – Strategic Capture

• Act as a trusted advisor for customers and their technical needs, challenges, and goals during pre-sales engagements • Participate in sales calls and business development meetings, often as the primary technical contact; travel as required to support on-site engagements • Discover real mission needs beyond surface-level requirements; ask probing questions to understand the core mission challenges and align our solutions accordingly • Architect solutions based on potential customer requirements and articulate those solutions • Maintain technical demo environments and lead live, hands-on demonstrations of our UDS Core platform and capabilities • Build and deliver technical proof-of-concepts, including live installations and technical walkthroughs to validate platform capabilities in real time • Support the long defense sales process by staying engaged by delivering small proof-of-concepts, follow-up demos, and ongoing pre-sales technical support
Job Requirements
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), and automation tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, etc.)
- Ability to clearly explain complex systems to a variety of audiences, from deeply technical engineers to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable doing live deployments, troubleshooting in real time, and adjusting depth on the fly depending on the room’s technical background
- Able to read the room, admit mistakes, pivot as needed, and keep demos engaging and informative
- Collaborative by nature to play well with cross-functional teams and prepare with your sales counterparts to tailor your approach for every engagement
- Proactive and self-directed in building and maintaining infrastructure, finding answers, and pushing opportunities forward even when it gets hard
- Passionate about the national security mission and motivated by the opportunity to make a real impact, solving real problems for people in mission-critical roles

Role Description We’re looking for a client-facing AI-focused Solutions Architect based in Denver to design and deliver Microsoft AI–centric solutions across Azure AI, Copilot, Modern Work, and Business Applications. This is a hands-on role that blends AI solution architecture, presales leadership, and delivery oversight, working with clients on both greenfield and complex transformation initiatives. You’ll help organizations responsibly adopt AI while ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and integrated across cloud, productivity, and application platforms. A Day in the Life: - Lead the architecture and implementation of AI-powered Microsoft solutions, including Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Copilot, M365, Teams, and Dynamics 365. - Design end-to-end AI solutions that integrate data, applications, security, and user experience across cloud and hybrid environments. - Translate business problems into practical AI use cases, balancing innovation with governance, cost, performance, and risk. - Partner with account executives and solution consultants to support presales activities, including AI demos, solution roadmaps, and technical proposals. - Provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle: discovery, AI envisioning, design, deployment, and transition to managed services. - Define and own architecture artifacts such as AI solution diagrams, reference architectures, BOMs, SOW inputs, configuration standards, and knowledge transfer documentation. - Serve as a trusted AI advisor to clients, guiding responsible AI adoption, modernization, and continuous improvement. - Contribute to internal AI solution IP, reusable architectures, accelerators, and delivery methodologies across Azure, Modern Work, and Business Applications. • Develop the overall architecture blueprint and technology roadmap for system modernization, covering application, data, integration, and infrastructure architectures. • Analyze the existing systems and data flows; design integration strategies to connect new platforms with legacy systems and external databases (state and federal) for seamless data sharing. • Select and recommend appropriate technology stacks (platforms, frameworks, databases) that fit project requirements, emphasizing a modular, “best-fit” approach for each component. • Ensure the solution’s design adheres to security and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, State security policies), with robust identity management, data encryption, and role-based access controls from the outset. • Architect cloud-ready and scalable solutions (or hybrid on-prem/cloud as appropriate) to handle high volumes of permit data and documents, with strategies for high availability and disaster recovery. • Define API and integration standards for connecting the platform with other systems (e.g. GIS services, document management, payment processing), ensuring interoperability and data consistency. • Provide technical oversight during implementation: review system designs and code, guide engineering teams in aligning development with the established architecture, and address any technical challenges or deviations. • Incorporate modern technologies such as AI-driven tools or workflow automation into the architecture where they add value (e.g., AI document review, RPA for routine tasks), ensuring they are implemented in a secure and effective manner. • Collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, and UX designers to ensure the technical solutions align with user requirements and provide excellent user experience. • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and public sector IT trends, and proactively recommend innovations that could improve system performance, maintainability, or user satisfaction.
• Support the sales team by running demos for prospective customers • Run Proof-of-Value (PoV) engagements to demonstrate the value of the XBOW platform • Conduct technical discovery and requirements gathering during the sales process • Guide customers through technical onboarding • Act as Tier 1 support during the PoV stage • Be open to transitioning into post-sales support roles when required • Provide feedback to product teams on what you are seeing in the Field • Help explain the technical and business value of the product • Explain complex security concepts to customer teams • Act as a the technical PoC for customers during pre-sales • Support hand-off between pre and post sales teams
