• Build and maintain features using Ruby on Rails across our web platform and APIs. • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code. • Contribute to a strong culture of automated testing and continuous delivery. • Participate in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and prioritization of technical improvements. • Collaborate with the team to improve our engineering practices and development processes. • Work across the stack when needed, contributing to backend, APIs, and occasionally frontend or infrastructure.

• Design, develop, and maintain Epic’s core backend systems and services • Own key components end-to-end, including requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and performance optimization • Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions • Contribute to the design and development of Epic’s enterprise data warehouse (EDW) • Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines to ensure high data quality, reliability, and performance • Support reporting, analytics, and research use cases by ensuring data is well-modeled and accessible • Partner with analytics and business teams to translate data needs into technical solutions • Assist with data monitoring, governance, and best practices • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for backend systems, data models, and pipelines • Collaborate effectively across time zones in a remote, global engineering environment

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. • Build and optimize data pipelines to ingest, store, and serve large-scale datasets, including video and ML training data. • Own and evolve the foundational data model that powers the entire Frontera platform. • Balance rapid development of MVPs and POCs for user research with building robust, long-term backend foundations. • Integrate third-party tools and services to enhance platform functionality. • Collaborate closely with engineers, machine learning scientists, and clinicians to align platform capabilities with user needs.
