• Write full length news reports and reported analysis each week on stories of major import to Israel and the Jewish world, utilizing at least 2 original source quotes. • Write news briefs as topics arise or as they are assigned on a daily basis. • Travel to and cover conferences and events in the US as and when required. • Uncover and pitch original news stories and angles. • Cultivate strong relationships with sources within the Jewish communal organizational structure, for advance news tips, background and context on key issues, as well as for use as on-the-record sourcing as subject-matter experts. • Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, experts, and individuals relevant to the stories being covered. • Collaborate with editors, designers, photographers, and other team members to produce high-quality content that meets editorial standards and deadlines. • Work closely with the editorial team to brainstorm ideas, plan coverage, and develop editorial strategies.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of reporting experience
- Demonstrated experience writing in a fast-paced newsroom, with adherence to journalistic styles and norms.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- News savvy, experienced in searching for stories on social media.
- Strong research skills and the ability to translate complex information into compelling and accessible content that drives action.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of AP style and journalistic ethics.
- Experience with multimedia content creation is a plus.
- Passion for storytelling, news reporting, and making an impact through journalism.
