Staff Software Engineer, Strategic Supply
The RealReal
• Design and deliver large, scalable systems that power critical parts of our luxury resale marketplace • Lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end • Partner closely with Engineering Managers and Product leaders • Influence architecture beyond your immediate team • Write and review production code regularly • Act as a technical leader during high-impact incidents • Elevate developer productivity by improving tooling, workflows, and engineering practices • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven ability to independently design and deliver large, scalable systems end-to-end in distributed, cloud native environments
- Demonstrated execution leadership on complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives
- Strong systems design expertise, including data modeling, API design, event-driven architectures, and performance optimization
- Experience reviewing production code at scale
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving high-impact production issues
- Experience leading the adoption of AI and LLM-powered development workflows
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable directions
