Overview Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an experienced OSP Designer II to join our Utility Design Engineering team! This position may be in-office or remote. Our UDE team works with industry-leading internet service providers across the United States to provide network engineering services. The OSP designer will be responsible for planning, designing, documenting and permitting proposed new outside plant backbone, middle mile FTTx, Passive Optical Network (PON, G-PON, XGS-PON), Centralized and Distributed Split Architecture and BAU build-outs. Responsibilities - Gather and utilize field data for railroad, waterway crossings, and controlled access permits. - Review jurisdiction documentation and field data to determine design within Right-Of-Way (i.e., wetlands, floodplains, highlands, pinelands, CAFRA, etc.). - Exhibit understanding of Telecom, Fiber - Outside Plant (OSP) design (FTTx, MDU, wiring diagrams, splicing schematics, equipment types, etc.) and design FTTx. - Network proficient in OSP route designs and simple modification designs. - Design/draft construction and permit drawings with minimal guidance. - Design Fiber-Optic network (FTTx) using ArcGIS software, or client designated software, with minimal supervision. - Determine efficient and cost effective path (aerial vs. underground) and construction methods (Bore, Plow, Trench, Micro-trench) for fiber optic cable. - Conduct QC review of junior staff work including constructability review. - Complete final QC of permit packages before submittal. - Create Bill of Materials. - Assist in preparing project proposals, including scope of work, fees and schedules. - Basic understanding of project finances. Qualifications - 5+ years' experience in linear utility engineering and design and/or fiber-optic/coaxial OSP experience required. - Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering degree preferred. - Driver's license required. - Proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D with the ability to design projects through completion. - Knowledge of local city, county, and state and utility permitting regulations preferred. - Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office. - Must be willing to travel. - Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Our team is dedicated to delivering world-class vehicle dynamics performance through innovative chassis controls features on the exciting vehicles that will define the next generation of GM’s future. The Chassis Program Staff Engineer will be responsible for integration and execution of chassis development activities across assigned projects. This role ensures performance expectations are met, requirements are clearly defined, and software/calibration deliverables are delivered on time and on spec. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful product launches in chassis controls, calibration expertise in complex technologies, and deep knowledge of brake controls, vehicle dynamics, and ride and handling. Strong leadership, planning, communication, and prioritization skills are essential. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent degree - 7+ years of experience in chassis controls, vehicle dynamics, performance driving, vehicle integration, ride and handling. - 7+ years of project management or leadership experience in chassis controls. - Demonstrated ability to integrate complex controls features. - Experience in data acquisition, analysis, calibration, software, and validation processes. - Ability to analyze technical data (objective and subjective) to meet performance targets. - Solid understanding of software development and release processes (V-Model). - Proven initiative in driving innovation and new development. - Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines. - Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain GM Level 3 driving certification. - Willingness to travel for winter testing (Jan/Feb) and development trips throughout the year.
