Role Description The AI Analyst supports the organization’s artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and data-driven initiatives. This role focuses on evaluating, validating, monitoring, and operationalizing AI-enabled solutions across clinical, operational, and business functions. The AI Analyst works closely with IT leadership, data resources, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are accurate, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. This position does not primarily develop AI models but plays a critical role in ensuring responsible AI adoption, data quality, workflow alignment, and ongoing performance monitoring within a regulated healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Data Analysis & Integration: - Analyze, validate, and interpret clinical, operational, and financial data used in AI-enabled solutions. - Collaborate with IT and application teams to integrate structured and unstructured data from internal systems and external sources. - Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity prior to AI model use, reporting, or decision support. - AI Solution Evaluation & Support: - Support the evaluation of AI, machine learning, and analytics solutions used across the organization. - Assist in reviewing model outputs, performance indicators, and trends to ensure reliability and business relevance. - Document AI use cases, assumptions, limitations, and outcomes for operational and leadership review. - Workflow & Business Alignment: - Work with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to translate business needs into AI-related requirements. - Ensure AI-enabled solutions align with existing workflows and support operational efficiency and decision-making. - Identify opportunities where AI and analytics can improve outcomes, efficiency, or insight. - AI Governance, Compliance & Risk: - Support AI governance initiatives, including documentation, transparency, and audit readiness. - Ensure AI solutions align with healthcare regulatory, privacy, and security requirements. - Monitor AI systems for accuracy, bias, and unintended outcomes and escalate concerns as appropriate. - Monitoring, Optimization & Documentation: - Assist with post-deployment monitoring of AI-enabled solutions to ensure ongoing effectiveness. - Track trends and recommend enhancements or corrective actions as needed. - Maintain documentation related to AI systems, data sources, metrics, and governance standards. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Collaborate with IT leadership, analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders to support AI initiatives. - Provide clear communication and reporting on AI-related findings, risks, and opportunities. - Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of IT. Qualifications - Minimum 3 years’ experience working with data analytics, reporting tools, or AI-enabled systems. - Prior experience in the healthcare industry. - Proficiency and strong working knowledge with AI concepts, analytics platforms, or decision-support tools. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly to non-technical audiences. - Understanding of data quality, validation, and reporting principles. - Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teams in a remote setting. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to document processes, findings, and technical concepts. Analyze stakeholder business issues, formulate hypotheses and test conclusions to determine appropriate solutions. - Conduct evaluations to assist with HEDIS gap closure, CAHPS and/or HOS performance and assess for potential pilot programs and/or process improvements to achieve sustainable quality performance goals. - The assessment includes an end-to-end evaluation of the measure technical specification, performance trends, stakeholders, industry/research literature, organizational initiatives, associated policy and procedures, resources/tools. - Leverage data analysis to derive actionable insights and strategic recommendations for performance improvements. - Collaborate and provide support to markets & key business stakeholders to drive continued measure performance. - Develop HEDIS, CAHPS, and/or HOS support resources and tools to foster gap closure & improve experience for members and providers. - Conduct ongoing assessment to determine health plan needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful end to end execution of strategic initiatives. - Monitor and ensure compliance related to state reporting, HHS and HPMS memos for quality ratings. - Establish quality check policy/procedures for all member and provider communications to ensure accuracy of information, data, and alignment with Centene business goals. - Establish QPS policies, procedures, and quality checks for all reoccurring departmental programs/activities, to ensure precision execution and accuracy. - Create, maintain and facilitate training for Quality Improvement Health Plan staff as applicable to assigned responsibility. - Performs other duties as assigned - Complies with all policies and standards Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred. 4+ years of clinical experience, managed care or health insurance experience required; 2+ years of quality experience preferred.
