The Controls & Avionics Solutions business unit is seeking a Business Development Director in support of Commercial Air Transportation (AT) Product Line. This position will be based out of Endicott. This position will further develop our pipeline related to Controls and Avionics Solution related to AT and work day to day with the AT Product Line team to enhance the value proposition of BAE Systems Inc solutions. This position will need to bring existing customer relationships, build new customer relationships, develop and maintain strong business relationships with key decision makers across BAE Systems Electronic Systems Sector, as well as identify and qualify business opportunities, and position BAE Systems for bidding and winning. This position will also oversee efforts to get European funding for Sustainability and Technology Development for BAE Systems Controls and Avionics Solutions efforts. Specific Activities Include: - Build, mature and execute comprehensive account plans that deliver desired customer awareness and awards. - Identify and qualify a robust pipeline of focused opportunities that align with Controls and Avionics business objectives. - Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify customer objectives, priorities, and requirements that strategically position BAE Systems as an innovative industry leader. - Develop and maintain strong industry relations with large and small businesses with significant presence in the assigned markets. - Team with Business Area leadership to provide counsel and recommendations for the bid/no bid gate reviews and collaborate with the Product Line Director & Capture Team Leads for smooth turnover to proposal development. - Conduct competitive analysis focused on differentiating CAS value propositions. - Develop effective win strategies which include identifying and qualifying new opportunities. - Develop a pipeline of funding opportunities for Sustainability and Technology development inclusive of all Govt, Private and Public funds. Identify key criteria for winning the funding and execute on those opportunities Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Bachelor's Degree and at least 12+ years of experience working in Business Development, Sales, Marketing and Customer Relationships - Strong understanding of customer's market - Commercial, Rotorcraft, Electrification and Defense markets - Detailed understanding of Commercial Aviation market and OEMs - Established customer relatinships and contacts - Exceptional written and oral communication skills with experience presenting at executive level - Demonstrate success influencing, shaping and growing a business area pipeline.
