Role Description We are seeking an experienced Head of Underwriting to build, lead, and scale a high-performing underwriting organization. As the Junior Underwriter working in a 100% paperless environment, you are responsible for reviewing certain conditions submitted by the loan processor after the conditional approval has been issued by the Senior D.E. Underwriter. The Jr. Underwriter evaluates the documentation provided by the processor and assesses the acceptability and clears the condition when acceptable. Junior Underwriters work daily with the Processing and Closing Departments to ensure that all loans and supporting documentation will meet FHA, VA, or GSE Guidelines (as applicable) from loan approval all the way through loan closing. How you will do it: - Reviewing documentation submitted by the processor to clear conditions on front-end residential mortgages (not loan modifications) for FHA, VA, and Conventional Purchases, Full-Doc Refinances, Streamlines, IRRRLs, and Construction-to-Permanent Loans - Analyzing credit, income, assets, property documents, and other conditions submitted by the processor after the loan is conditionally approved by the SR.
