We’re looking for Project Managers who are excited to drive complex electrical infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, and power generation facilities in the U.S. This role involves managing concurrent projects ranging from $500K to $2.5M, often with overlapping schedules. You’ll oversee retrofits, relay replacements, protection and control upgrades, and more, working cross-functionally with field technicians, subcontractors, and engineers. What You’ll Do: - Lead all phases of assigned projects from kickoff to closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget - Define scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders - Coordinate with engineering, field services, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment - Manage contracts and ensure compliance from both a technical and commercial perspective - Interpret customer requirements and convert them into actionable project plans - Oversee technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality of project execution - Track progress, identify risks, and implement contingency plans as needed - Monitor subcontractor performance and issue RFPs as applicable - Provide clear and consistent communication across internal and external teams - Drive process improvements and promote PMO best practices - Own project outcomes and ensure alignment with RMS Energy’s high standards - Perform engineering reviews, initiate corrective actions, and support technical troubleshooting - Assist with forecasting, reporting, and PMO documentation - Ensure field implementation meets all safety standards and regulatory requirements The Experience We’re Looking For: - 5+ years of relevant experience in project management - Experience in commercial or industrial power systems is highly preferred - PMP certification or NETA 2/3/4 preferred - Familiarity with electrical systems, substations, switchgear, and control/protection upgrades - Skilled in Microsoft Project and the MS Office Suite - Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities - Proven communication skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and external clients - Understanding of the power industry landscape, EPC relationships, and service execution - Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines Additional Requirements: - Willingness to travel up to 30% across the continental U.S. - Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical field (or equivalent work experience) - High school diploma or GED required - Valid and current driver’s license with a clean driving record - Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests - Legally authorized to work in the United States - Comfortable visiting field sites with varied temperatures (20–100°F), noise levels, and PPE requirements - Able to lift up to 20 lbs and sit or work at a computer for extended periods - Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments Bonus Points for: - Prior experience with relay upgrades, switchgear retrofits, commissioning, or protection/control projects - Familiarity with NETA standards, OSHA guidelines, and PMO methodologies - Working knowledge of installation, testing, and retrofitting of electrical distribution systems Why Join RMS Energy: We’re not just another power services company. The ideal candidate should possess a blended background of civil, mechanical and electrical construction management experience and must be willing to travel and stay as required to deployment locations; up to 100% of the time. Core Duties and Responsibilities - Provide on-site support for construction project activities: oversight of construction crews, industrial gas companies, permitting agencies, contractors and suppliers. - Uphold schedule of all construction activity on jobsite and make changes necessary to ensure deadlines are met. - Maintain a daily log (electronic) of all activities on jobsite. - Manage daily reports regarding progress of site and report back to Project Manager. - Ensure budgetary parameters are being met and within approved range. - Enforce good construction standards and quality control. - Plan and review project priorities with the Project Manager including quality control procedures, safety and security practices, field office location and layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, manpower and other elements as needed. - Maintain a safe jobsite and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced. - Hold job site meetings, raising relevant issues, and enforcing safety and quality standards for entire construction crew. - Identify vendor or subcontractor non-compliance with any safety, health or quality standards; escalate issues as needed for resolution. - Coordinate all required municipal inspections. - Identify any issues with construction timelines and progress, work with Project Manager to resolve. - Communicate regularly with internal project team members and end-customers in order to clarify project expectations and meet commitments. - Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions. - Perform all other duties as assigned. As the Project Management Lead, you will drive progress on various projects including R&D tax credits, tax restructuring, and finance system modernizations.
