Job Description: Role Summary The Director / Sr Business Transformation Manager – Finance & Accounting Track will lead the end-to-end design and execution of the Project Phoenix Finance workstream, with primary focus on Record-to-Report (R2R), Acquire-to-Retire (A2R), and Tax processes. This role is accountable for driving a scalable global design, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring that new ERP-enabled processes deliver control, compliance, transparency, and efficiency across the Finance & Accounting landscape. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategy & Transformation Leadership - Lead the Finance & Accounting track for Project Phoenix across R2R, A2R, and Tax, from design through deployment and stabilization. - Define and maintain the target operating model for Finance in these areas, aligned with corporate strategy and Finance leadership priorities. - Translate strategic objectives into a phased roadmap with clear milestones, dependencies, and benefits for the Phoenix program. - Act as primary thought partner to Finance Leadership (Controller, Tax, FP&A, Operations Finance) on process, controls, and organizational implications. 2. Process Design & Global Template Ownership - Own the global process design and ERP process template for: R2R: GL, sub-ledgers, consolidations, intercompany, allocations, close & reporting. A2R: Fixed assets lifecycle, capitalization policies, impairments, disposals, leases (if in scope). Tax: Direct and indirect tax configuration, tax determination, compliance and reporting (in coordination with Corporate Tax). - Facilitate design workshops and decision forums; reconcile regional requirements into a standardized global design with clearly documented local deviations. - Ensure process designs embed strong internal controls, auditability, and SOX readiness, and support accurate, timely financial reporting. - Partner with IT/ERP teams to translate process requirements into system configuration, data models, and integration requirements. 3. Program Management & Delivery - Own scope, schedule, and delivery quality for the Finance & Accounting Phoenix workstream. - Build and manage a cross-functional track team (Finance SMEs, IT, data, change management, external partners). - Drive fit-gap analysis, solution design, testing (SIT/UAT), cutover, and hypercare for R2R, A2R, and Tax. - Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across other workstreams (P2P, O2C, S&OP, FP&A, etc.). - Provide clear, data-backed status reporting and decision-ready materials to the Phoenix PMO and Finance leadership. 4. Data, Controls & Reporting Enablement - Define data requirements (chart of accounts, cost centers, legal entities, asset classes, tax codes, etc.) and partner with Data & IT teams to ensure quality migration. - Align financial structures (CoA, segment definitions, reporting hierarchies) to support management reporting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance. - Ensure process and system design support strong financial controls, including reconciliations, approvals, segregation of duties, and audit trails. - Partner with FP&A and Operations Finance to ensure that R2R/A2R/Tax design supports forecasting, analytics, and performance management needs. 5. Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as the change leader for Finance stakeholders impacted by R2R, A2R, and Tax changes. - Define new roles, responsibilities, and handoffs across global, regional, and local Finance teams. - Develop and drive training, communications, and adoption plans to ensure smooth transition to new processes and tools. - Build strong working relationships with regional Controllers, Tax leads, and Business Unit Finance to secure alignment and commitment. 6. Benefits Realization & Continuous Improvement - Define and track KPIs and value targets (e.g., close cycle time, manual journal volume, automation rates, asset cycle time, tax compliance timeliness/accuracy). - Ensure that Phoenix delivers measurable improvements in control, efficiency, and transparency for Finance & Accounting. - Establish a post-go-live continuous improvement backlog and governance model for enhancements and optimization. Key Qualifications Education & Professional Background - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent strongly preferred. - 10–15+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounting, with significant exposure to: Record-to-Report and general accounting/controllership. Fixed assets / A2R and capital projects/accounting. Tax (direct/indirect) in partnership with corporate tax teams. - 5+ years of leading Finance transformation and/or ERP implementations (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) across multiple regions or business units. - Proven experience in a program/track leadership role on a large-scale Finance transformation or ERP program. Technical & Functional Skills - Deep understanding of R2R, A2R, and Tax processes, accounting policies, and control frameworks. - Strong familiarity with ERP Finance modules, including GL, FA, Tax, and consolidation tools. - Demonstrated ability to design and implement global templates, balancing standardization with local statutory/tax requirements. - Experience with data migration, CoA redesign, and reporting structures in an ERP context. - Strong financial controls mindset, including SOX, audit, and compliance considerations.
