Infrastructure Support Engineer

Role Description We are seeking an Infrastructure Support Engineer to manage the operations, maintenance, and lifecycle support of our core DevOps toolchain. This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of platforms including GitLab, Atlassian Jira & Confluence, Nexus Repository Manager, and SonarQube. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a service-oriented mindset to support development teams, perform routine maintenance, and deliver continuous improvements across these systems. - Perform day-to-day operations and maintenance for GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Nexus, and SonarQube, ensuring stability and uptime. - Apply system patches, upgrades, and application updates on a regular schedule, including planning, testing, and deployment. - Manage user accounts, permissions, integrations, and custom configurations across the tool suite. - Respond to and resolve incidents, service requests, and troubleshooting escalations from development and project teams. - Monitor system health, capacity, and performance; recommend and implement improvements. - Maintain backups, disaster recovery configurations, and data retention policies for each platform. - Coordinate with developers to ensure CI/CD pipelines, workflows, quality gates, and artifact repositories are functioning properly. - Document configuration changes, procedures, system architecture, and platform usage guidelines. - Ensure compliance with security policies, including vulnerability remediation and secure configuration management. - Collaborate with infrastructure teams on server provisioning, network connectivity, and environment readiness for all supported platforms. Qualifications - BA/BS or equivalent - 8+ years of related experience - Experience administrating GitLab (self-managed), including runners, updates, and integrations in a highly available configuration. - Experience performing patching, upgrades, backups, and routine maintenance for enterprise applications. - Strong working knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence administration, including workflow and permission management. - Hands-on experience supporting Nexus Repository Manager (OSS/Pro) and SonarQube environments. - Proficiency with Linux systems administration, including shell scripting for automation. - Familiarity with networking fundamentals, SSL certificates, reverse proxies, and load balancers. - Strong troubleshooting skills across application, system, and integration layers. - Experience supporting development teams in an Agile or DevOps-oriented environment. Requirements - Strong customer-service mindset when supporting internal development teams. - Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively. - Proactive mindset with a focus on reliability, consistency, and continuous improvement.
