FinOp Analyst

Remote: Portsmouth, NH area This Financial Operations & Accounting Analyst role offers a strong foundation for professionals seeking to build a long-term career in the financial services industry. The position is designed to provide hands-on experience, structured development, and increasing responsibility within ACA Group’s FINOP Consulting team. You will work closely with an experienced FINOP leader and gain exposure to SEC and FINRA regulatory reporting, client-facing engagements, and core accounting and financial operations. The role supports professional growth toward licensed FINOP responsibilities over time and is well suited for individuals who are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop technical expertise. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you will contribute to meaningful client work while developing a strong understanding of regulatory accounting and financial operations: - Prepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP for Broker-Dealer and Investment Adviser clients - Assist with SEC and FINRA regulatory filings, developing an understanding of regulatory requirements and reporting standards - Review accounting system reports and tie accounts to supporting documentation - Complete bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations - Maintain and update internal databases used for financial and regulatory reporting - Communicate with clients to collect required information and resolve outstanding items - Learn bookkeeping practices and how to maintain client books across different business models - Progress toward FINRA Series licensure, with the opportunity to assume registered FINOP responsibilities as qualifications are obtained - Support additional projects and responsibilities as skills and experience expand Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Prior experience (internship, part-time, or full-time; 6+ months preferred) in accounting, finance, or a professional office environment - Proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Preferred Experience - Experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is a plus - Interest in financial regulation, compliance, or capital markets Skills and Attributes for Success - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interacting with clients - High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy - Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment - Receptive to feedback with the ability to apply guidance effectively - Organized, reliable, and proactive in managing responsibilities Why This Role - Direct mentorship: Ongoing guidance and training from an experienced FINOP professional - Structured growth path: Role responsibilities expand with experience and licensure - Client exposure: Meaningful interaction with clients and regulators - Career foundation: Strong preparation for advancement in financial operations, compliance, or regulatory consulting What ACA Group Offers ACA Group provides a comprehensive total rewards package designed to support professional growth and overall well-being, including: - Medical and dental coverage - 401(k) plan - Generous paid time off and ACA-paid holidays - Summer Fridays and a flexible work environment - Student Debt Forgiveness and Pet Insurance - Programs supporting physical, financial, and emotional wellness About ACA Group ACA Group is a leading governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) advisor to the financial services industry.
