HVAC Project Developer

Aeroseal

HVAC Project Developer Locations: Northeast (remote, Boston, NYC, DC, or Chicago preferred) or Miamisburg, OH SUMMARY Aeroseal is looking for a Project Developer to support Aeroseal's building solutions services by providing hands-on technical expertise in HVAC systems, project scoping, and measurement and verification (M&V). In this role, you will work closely with sales and operations teams to evaluate building systems in the field, develop project scopes and M&V plans, review energy models and utility incentives, and support the delivery of verified energy efficiency outcomes for building owners. This is a field-oriented technical sales support role suited for an experienced commissioning or retro-commissioning professional who thrives on getting into mechanical rooms, collecting real data, and translating findings into technically credible, high-impact energy saving projects. Travel expectations are ~50% to customer sites and Aeroseal’s HQ in Miamisburg, OH. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or a related technical field. Equivalent experience considered. - 5+ years of experience in commissioning (Cx), retro-commissioning (RCx), building performance, or a related field-based engineering role. - Demonstrated experience leading building audits, systems investigations, and field data collection across a variety of facility types. - Deep working knowledge of HVAC systems, airflow, duct systems, controls, and building automation systems (BAS). - Experience with measurement and verification (M&V) planning, instrumentation, data collection, and reporting. - Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, mechanical schedules, and BAS trend data. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills. - Comfortable presenting findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, field operations, and clients in both field and client-facing settings. - Familiarity with utility incentive programs or performance-based projects is a plus. - Working knowledge of ASHRAE standards and familiarity with SMACNA guidelines is a plus. M&V Plan Creation through Execution - Develop customized Measurement and Verification plans that validate stipulated energy savings from the energy model. - Coordinate and execute M&V activities in collaboration with Field Operations during the sales process and with the Project Manager following contract award. - Conduct field data collection including measurements, equipment surveys, BAS trend data extraction, and systems performance testing. - Analyze and validate data collected during M&V execution. - Produce final M&V reports summarizing findings, validated savings, and supporting documentation. Support and Training - Participate in client meetings, virtual or in-person, to support sales with technical expertise. - Provide Field Technician and Project Manager training on M&V equipment and methodology. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The estimated pay range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000 per year (base). Actual pay is based on various factors including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, and job location. This role offers flexibility in work location, with remote, hybrid, or in-office options available depending on business needs and candidate location. You'll partner closely with senior leaders in a highly cross-functional, globally distributed environment, using asynchronous updates and lightweight operating rhythms to keep work moving between leadership touchpoints. Our focus is to reduce friction in how revenue initiatives are planned, coordinated, and delivered, so the CRO organization can adapt quickly as priorities change while maintaining accountability and follow-through. The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of the United States only. This range is intended to reflect the role's base salary rate in locations throughout the US. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, alignment with market data, and geographic location.
