Robotics Commissioning Technician III

The PAC Group

Role Description The Commissioning Technician III serves as a senior-level field technician responsible for leading the installation, configuring, and deployment of complex robotic systems, troubleshooting high-level technical issues, and mentoring junior team members. These technicians work independently to coordinate installation activities, ensure system performance, and uphold PAC’s high standards of quality and safety, and can direct Tech I and Tech II resources. This role is suited for experienced professionals with deep technical expertise and leadership ability in robotics or industrial automation environments. Key Responsibilities - Lead onsite deployment and commissioning of robotic systems. - Perform advanced troubleshooting and system diagnostics. - Coordinate with multiple trades and client teams for installation planning. - Calibrate, test, and validate system performance to specifications. - Interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings. - Train and mentor Apprentices and Tech I & Tech II technicians. - Provide technical feedback and recommendations to engineering teams. - Ensure adherence to all safety standards and field best practices. - Travel up to 80% of the time across the U.S. (potentially Canada). Qualifications - HSD or GED - Technical training in Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field. - 7+ years of hands-on experience in robotics, automation, or complex industrial equipment installation. - Expert knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems integration. - Strong understanding of BMS, FLS, and industrial networking fundamentals. - Proven ability to lead small teams or coordinate subcontractors in the field. - Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. - Proficiency interpreting and updating technical documentation. Preferred Certifications - OSHA 30 - Amazon Red Badge (training provided) - First Aid/CPR - Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred Preferred Experience - Prior work in Amazon Robotics or high-volume fulfillment environments. - Field leadership or site supervision experience.
