About the Role You are capable of working efficiently in distributed teams, with a strong focus on clear and frequent communication. You think critically about the problems presented to the team and can propose multiple solutions, ideally documented in written form. You are proactive, taking initiative while keeping the team’s success in mind. You are comfortable communicating in English, both verbally and in writing. You have experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps. You have experience with workload orchestration solutions, such as, Kubernetes You can reason about software design and distributed systems. You are proficient in at least one programming language. You have experience running Blockchain RPC nodes and Validators, such as Ethereum, Solana or similar ones What We Do We manage compute infrastructure and the applications that depend on it. Most of these applications, like blockchains, are not designed or implemented by us. Thus, we do a lot of reading—documentation, code, Slack channels, and Discord servers—to develop an informed understanding of each app's architecture, best operating practices, and debugging techniques when things go wrong. Documenting what we learn, including what went wrong and how to prevent future issues, is also a big part of our work. • Hack on execution client internals (geth, reth, etc.) to extend capacity and capabilities of these systems well beyond current standards. • Develop representative loads against which to rigorously benchmark performance. • Improve OP stack through efforts such as reducing the footprint of data that needs to be made L1-available. • Helping with important external scaling efforts such as PeerDAS and Danksharding.

• Design and implement extensions to EVM clients (Geth/Reth) for supporting stateful precompiles • Implement novel mechanism design primitives, collaborating with our research team, into the execution layer • Develop and optimize transaction processing pipelines for heterogeneous workloads • Research and implement solutions for state access conflicts • Contribute to core protocol development and EIP implementations • Collaborate with the research team on protocol specifications and mechanism design improvements • Design and implement robust testing frameworks for execution client modifications

• Architect and implement solutions in our queueing layer, state store, and execution layer (eg. concurrency over time, or function debounce) • Plan and implement improvements on throughput, and latency at hundreds of thousands to millions of requests per second • Contribute to systems architecture and infrastructure changes as we grow • Collaborate with team members to expose internal data across metrics stores, APIs, and customer dashboards we host in our cloud UI • Work with backend engineers to design APIs that can be used across the Inngest cloud dashboard, dev server and CLIs • Dogfood the Inngest product and develop ideas for improvements, features, or integrations • Communicate with our users through Github, email and Discord • Write technical specs for features and documentation for our users
