Software Engineer I – Laravel/PHP

• Learning existing systems and development workflows with support from senior engineers • Assisting in the development and maintenance of RESTful APIs and services, primarily in PHP/Laravel • Collaborating with the engineering team to implement technical solutions based on business requirements • Creating and maintaining responsive email templates (HTML/CSS) for marketing campaigns • Supporting integrations with MarTech platforms like Braze to facilitate data flow and event triggering • Building and updating UI features for internal tools and job monitoring dashboards • Troubleshooting application issues and assisting with root cause analysis to resolve bugs • Writing clean, testable code and participating in peer code reviews to ensure quality
Job Requirements
- 1+ years of commercial development experience with proficiency in PHP (Laravel)
- Basic familiarity with AWS environments or interest in learning cloud infrastructure concepts
- Interest in learning event-driven systems or message brokers (e.g., Kafka)
- Working knowledge of MySQL and an understanding of data processing workflows
- Ability to work within and incrementally improve existing codebases
- Experience with modern frontend tooling such as TypeScript, React or Vue
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS specific to email design or willingness to learn templating engines (e.g., Blade, Liquid)
