Billing Coordinator

• Utilize Elite 3E, BillBlast, and other firm software to perform duties and responsibilities. • Review and edit proformas in response to attorney and legal assistant requests. • Verify accuracy of billing instructions, rates, and edits made to proformas. • Communicate billing discrepancies, deadlines, and requests to supervisor, attorneys, and legal assistants. • Ensure invoices comply with outside counsel guidelines, billing requirements, and deadlines. • Distribute invoices and supporting documentation to clients in a timely manner. • Respond to billing requests and inquiries from clients, attorneys, and legal assistants in a timely manner. • Review and update special billing instructions, distribution lists, and other billing fields in firm software. • Provide billed and unbilled amounts for accruals and budgets in response to various requests. • Support e-Billing specialist and accounts receivable analyst as needed. • Collaborate with team members and supervisor to offer or request assistance and streamline processes. • Other duties as requested and assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in a law firm environment and knowledge of billing department operations is essential and an understanding of flat fee intellectual property billing, following fee schedules, is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and a strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Solid billing experience utilizing Elite software.
- Experience with major E-billing vendor sites and Bill Blast is a plus.
- Strong Internet research skills and the ability to use legal and financial research systems.
- Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
- General knowledge of accounting principles and internal control concepts.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, probability, statistical inference, and proportions to practical situations.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented with strong follow-up methods.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
- Ability to exercise discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- A strong client service approach and team orientation.
- Ability to speak effectively and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all levels of clients, professional staff and support staff.
- Interpersonal communication skills are necessary to maintain effective relationships with partners, attorneys, clients, and staff, and to exhibit a high degree of responsiveness, diplomacy, and professionalism in these interactions.

The Specialist will determine the appropriate action needed to recover the underpayment, complete the action, and follow up on the underpayment through recovery of the outstanding monies. Work with the client team to identify, document, and address root causes of issues in the A/R with minimal direction. - Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable state and federal insurance regulations as well as payor specific requirements, taking actions on underpayments accordingly. - Document all activity accurately with all pertinent information in the client’s host system, Ensemble IQ, or other appropriate tracking system. - Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness by making recommendations and communicating trends and issues to management. - Operate as a strong problem solver and critical thinker to resolve underpayments, independently solving problems. - Meet all productivity and quality standards as established by Ensemble and - Identify underpayments through both automated and manual means. - Multitask within the client team. Role Description This position is National Remote. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. In this role, the HBA Operations Support team member performs outbound calls and general administrative duties and serves as the main provider contact for the audit team. This position will coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as hospitals nationwide to ensure that all workflows associated with the audit process are completed. The HBA Support team member plays a pivotal role in building and retaining relationships with providers, moving our audits to completion, and by so doing, creating savings for our clients and revenue for Optum. The HBA Operations Support is a relationship builder and will engage with hospitals and medical facilities through various modes of communication (electronic, written, telephone, etc.). Working as part of a high-energy team. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm local time. • The Dental Billing Specialist will be part of the Dental Insurance Billing/Collections Team • Provides services such as billing, collections, and payments posting for Dental clinics/service providers in the United States • Create accurate claims for quick and maximum reimbursement • Track insurance claim status; appeal, correct rejected/denied insurance claims • Work with dental clinics to gather supporting claim information • Identify denial/rejection patterns and implement corrective policy for future prevention
