• Serve as the primary content contact for assigned client accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction • Conduct regular client calls (3-5+ per week) to present content, review feedback, and discuss strategy • Translate SEO content strategies into clear, understandable business value for clients • Manage client expectations by setting realistic timelines and content performance projections aligned with our agency methodology • Facilitate communication between our writing team and clients to ensure smooth content delivery • Write SEO-optimized content (blogs, web pages, service pages) for assigned clients across various industries • Research topics, interview subject matter experts when needed, and adapt to different brand voices • Meet deadlines while managing multiple client accounts simultaneously • Edit and quality-check content from our writing team before client delivery • Provide direct, actionable feedback to writers to maintain our quality standards • Review content to ensure alignment with SEO strategy, brand voice, and client objectives • Stay current with SEO content best practices to provide informed editorial guidance • Collaborate with internal strategists and project managers on content planning and account strategy • Provide recommendations for content improvements and expansion opportunities • Report to the managing editor on account health, content performance, and team development needs
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of professional writing and editing experience
- Portfolio of organized writing samples (link required)
- General understanding of SEO content (we'll train you on our methods)
- Experience editing other writers' work, not just your own
- Direct client experience (you've owned relationships, not just received assignments)
- Proficiency with project management software and Google Suite
- Available for client meetings during US business hours

NWH is a sister journal to AWHONN’s official scientific journal JOGNN, and this role will work closely with the team of AWHONN staff and contracted Editors and Associate Editors who produce JOGNN and NWH. NWH is published six times per year. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Journal Production · Develop and manage the journal’s editorial calendar. · Oversee peer review process to ensure quality and timeliness of reviews. · Check submissions after editors’ edits for completeness and correctness; select callouts for articles. · Secure all necessary permissions and copyright agreements for all articles and maintain integrity of legal archive of copyright agreements. · Meet publisher’s deadlines to transmit content, approve artwork, and correct proofs. · Work with the Editor and the freelance Art Director to select appropriate stock imagery to accompany articles. · Work with the Editorial Coordinator to supply “Author’s Perspective” videos to the Publisher. · Coordinate with AWHONN Nurse Planners to provide Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) activities to accompany select journal articles. · Write or assign freelancer to write regular news column for each issue of journal called “Research & Practice Briefs”.
