Job Description

Technical Infrastructure Engineering Manager

Unisys

• Provides leadership and oversight for the Engineering team responsible for designing and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient technology solutions. • Focused on driving automation, improving operational efficiency, best practices and enabling internal teams and customers through self-service platforms and streamlined processes. • Works across technical and business teams to eliminate manual tasks, enforce standards, and implement modern platforms. • Leads development efforts for the Unisys Infrastructure and potentiallyCloud Native Platform, supporting modernization and innovation. • Provides direction to a team of engineers (direct or indirect) focused on platform engineering, system integration, and automation. • Oversees the execution of projects, including scope, timeline, resource planning, and budget control. • Retains technical ownership for designing and coordinating scalable, resilient infrastructure and services. • Leads the development and implementation of automation solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, DevOps). • Promotes configuration-as-code and standardized deployment practices to eliminate manual work and ensure consistency. • Drives adoption of self-service capabilities for provisioning, access, and operational tasks through platforms like ServiceNow or internal service catalogs. • Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and align technical delivery with strategic goals. • Partners with architecture, security, and operations teams to enforce compliance, streamline change, and enhance platform usability. • Establishes best practices and operating procedures for build, deployment, support, and incident management. • Implements observability tools for proactive monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog, Azure Monitor). • Ensures secure and automated management of credentials and secrets using tools like Vault, Key Vault, or Secrets Manager. • Leads the evolution of engineering platforms to support modern workloads, microservices, and resilient architectures. • Continuously evaluates new technologies and methodologies to improve service reliability, cost efficiency, and team productivity.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and 8-10 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 3-5 years’ leadership experience
  • Experience leading and managing managed services engineering teams (windows, linux, database, datacenter)
  • Demonstrated experience in solving complex business and technical problems in a highly regulated environment
  • Strong focus on implementing process and technology automation
  • Strong communication and written skills, ability to drive MBR's, QBR's with account teams
  • Must be a US Citizenship due to servicing DoD account.
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
