Senior Actuarial Assistant

• Executes and/or manages projects in support of pricing insurance business • Uses best practices to determine appropriate analysis and performs complex analysis • Provides thought and/or technical leadership • Plans, implements, manages, and/or contributes on moderate to high complex projects • Communicates results to management and non-technical users • Responsible for data quality used for actuarial and statistical services • Leverages understanding of insurance business in the creation of business strategies • May mentor and/or supervise less experienced talent
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in related field of study such as actuarial science, math/applied math, statistics/applied statistics
- 3-5 years of property and casualty pricing/modeling experience
- Pursuing actuarial designation
- Advanced knowledge in the use and ability to learn a wide variety of tools, data sources and computer applications
- Experience in using, modifying and building predictive models
- Ability to code in one or more programming languages
- Advanced product, price, risk management and insurance regulation knowledge
- High level project management skills

Provide necessary reporting to external stakeholders, including regulators, insurance/reinsurance partners, TPAs, and others. Analyze and provide input on contracts surrounding profit-sharing agreements, TPA agreements, etc. Develop, maintain, and validate/test databases and rating engines. Review analyses and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency. Maintain strong controls and documentation around pricing assumptions, processes, methods, and results, in line with professional standards of practice and regulatory requirements. Collaborate cross-functionally with the underwriting, engineering, data, product, finance, and marketing teams by providing actuarial perspective, reports, information, and insights.
