Qualifications - Technical Expertise - Programming: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript is critical for new development in K6; additional languages (e.g., Python, Java) are a plus. - Performance Tooling: Deep, practical expertise with APM/RUM tools like New Relic (our primary tool), DataDog, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace. Strong hands-on proficiency with modern load testing tools, specifically K6 and Playwright; experience with JMeter and Locust is also valuable. • Own and continuously evolve our cloud WAF stack defining and tuning rules, policies, and traffic flows to protect public APIs and frontends at scale, while proactively reducing noise and false positives. • Build and maintain end‑to‑end HTTP/HTTPS observability, including structured logging, dashboards, alerting, and synthetic checks, so that performance issues, misconfigurations, and attacks are detected and triaged early. • Drive WAF and networking infrastructure as code (IaC), fully integrated into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring changes are repeatable, auditable, tested, and secure, and helping to reduce configuration drift across environments. • Design and operate VPCs and core network services (routing, DNS, VPNs, and third‑party connectivity), making sure they are resilient, scalable, and aligned with our global network and security architecture. • Automate key deployment and configuration workflows (e.g., onboarding and decommissioning sites, rule and policy lifecycle, failover between WAF providers), minimizing manual work, human error, and operational risk. • Lead and actively participate in incident response for network and WAF‑related security, performance, and availability events, including triggering WAF DRP procedures, executing controlled failovers, and driving post‑mortems and follow‑up remediation. • Partner closely with Information Security and Compliance to ensure the network and WAF architecture meets regulatory and industry standards (e.g., PCI, SOX), providing audit‑ready evidence and continuously strengthening controls. • Keep technical documentation current and actionable for architectures, traffic flows, runbooks, and configuration standards, enabling other engineering teams to move fast while maintaining a strong security and reliability posture.

• The Protection Commissioning Engineer supports project-based works, portfolios of projects, and ad-hoc repairs, ensuring the commissioning and integration of protection, control, and SCADA systems across all distribution asset classes (overhead lines, underground cables, substations, civil works, and work programmes). • The role involves undertaking all aspects of commissioning activities to ensure assets are fit for purpose and meet regulatory and customer obligations. • Perform pre-commissioning inspection prior to off-load commissioning tests. • Check detailed schematics against connections, protection, and tripping logic diagrams. • Attend Factory Acceptance Testing and project-specific meetings as required. • Conduct off-load commissioning checks, including: • Witness testing of primary substation plant (circuit breakers, switches/disconnectors, transformers, voltage and current transformers). • Insulation resistance, primary and secondary injection tests. • Circuit logic tests against DC schematic diagrams. • Testing integral relay logic. • Protection relay checks (distance relays, feeder differential, transformer differential, frequency, G99 type, high impedance busbar, blocked busbar protection). • Auto-reclose scheme checks. • Intertripping and signalling equipment checks. • Testing integration of protection systems with control and SCADA using DNP3 and IEC61850 protocols. • Testing and proving relay programmable logic files, relay setting files, and DNP3 communication files. • Interface with customers, internal and external resources. • Complete all work in line with company objectives (time, cost, quality). • Accurately record all time spent on projects and provide timely reports on progress and status. • Provide guidance and support to other members of the Protection Commissioning Team. • Use and update company data and information systems, including comprehensive commissioning records and on-site fault/defect investigations. • Undertake duties under the CDM Regulations as Designer and/or Contractor.
