Role Description Enable smarter investment and faster learning by turning ambiguous business challenges into evidence-based decisions not just documented requirements. In this role, you’ll reduce strategic and execution risk by uncovering the real problems worth solving, validating assumptions with data and insight, and guiding teams toward solutions that deliver measurable business impact. You’ll help organizations move with confidence, not guesswork. Operating at the intersection of strategy, data, and discovery, you’ll shape what should be built and why it matters — long before solutions are fully defined. This is a role for clear thinkers who thrive in ambiguity and enjoy influencing direction as much as outcomes. This is not a traditional “requirements gathering” role. You will: - Work in problem spaces before solutions are known - Challenge assumptions embedded in requests and roadmaps - Use analysis, data, and experimentation to guide decisions - Help leadership decide where to invest, pivot, or stop HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE: - Problem Framing & Strategic Discovery - Partner with business, product, UX, and engineering leaders to reframe requests into solvable business problems - Identify underlying drivers behind symptoms, feature requests, and collaborator demands - Surface assumptions, risks, and unknowns early—before large investments are made - Translate strategic objectives into clear decision questions, not just requirements - Experimentation & Assumption Validation - Design and support business experiments, pilots, and discovery efforts - Define hypotheses, success criteria, and measurable outcomes - Use qualitative and quantitative analysis to validate or invalidate assumptions - Enable early go / no-go/pivot decisions based on evidence - Data-Driven Insight & Decision Support - Perform data analysis to uncover patterns, opportunities, and risks - Develop arguments focused on learning value and optionality, not just the return on investment - Build decision frameworks that balance value, feasibility, risk, and timing - Translate complex analysis into executive-ready insights and recommendations - Future-State Thinking & Value Design - Define future-state business capabilities and workflows advised by insight - Find opportunities for process simplification, automation, and digital enablement - Help build solution approaches collaboratively with UX and engineering - Ensure business intent is preserved from discovery through delivery - Innovation → Scale Enablement - Resolve when business understanding is sufficient to lock requirements - Support the transition from exploration to delivery with clarity and focus within the field - Ensure requirements, success metrics, and value hypotheses are well-defined for scale teams - Maintain traceability between the original problem, insight, and delivered outcome - Stakeholder Facilitation & Influence - Facilitate workshops focused on decision-making, not documentation - Align diverse collaborators around evidence rather than opinion - Act as a trusted advisor to leadership during periods of uncertainty - Mentor other analysts in analysis approaches focused on learning and adaptation Qualifications - 7+ years of progressive business analysis experience; demonstrated success leading analysis for large-scale, complex initiatives across multiple business domains - Demonstrated impact across both early-stage discovery and scaled initiatives - Advanced business analysis, requirements elicitation, and problem structuring - Analysis and insight generation based on careful evaluation - Process mapping and optimization (BPMN, process flow diagrams) - Data analysis, interpretation, and business intelligence - Collaborator facilitation under ambiguity - Argument decision framework development, and return on investment analysis - Comfort working without predefined solutions - Ability to challenge senior collaborators respectfully with evidence - Bias toward learning and early validation - Strong systems-thinking and value-chain awareness - Ability to translate insight into clear strategic direction - Proven track record of optimally delivering complex business analysis projects with measurable outcomes - Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex business challenges - Expertise in requirements documentation techniques and tools - Excellent facilitation skills managing diverse collaborator groups with competing priorities - Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail - Experience supporting innovation labs, pilots, or transformation initiatives - Familiarity with agile discovery, dual-track delivery, or experimentation models - Understanding of UX research and engineering feasibility considerations - Knowledge of specific business domains (e.g., finance, healthcare, retail, manufacturing) - Experience with business process management and workflow automation - Understanding of data analytics and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, SQL) - Familiarity with agile methodologies and writing user stories - Project management capabilities - Experience guiding organizational transformation and adaptation Education - Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Analytics, Computer Science, or related analytical field - Preferred: MBA, Master's in Business Analytics, Strategy, or related degree;
