Role Description Our firm is seeking a Controller to join our small team of financial professionals dedicated to the behavioral health industry. We partner with mental health and addiction treatment facilities to provide world-class financial infrastructure, ensuring their focus remains on patient care. This is a full-time opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself, managing the full-cycle accounting across our portfolio of clients, making a direct impact on the financial health of organizations that change lives. A typical day as the Controller includes: - Portfolio Oversight: Managing the full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of behavioral health clients. - Hard Close: Ensuring a "Hard Close" is consistently achieved by the 5th business day of each month. - Team Leadership: Supervising and mentoring a team of bookkeepers, performing high-level reviews of their work in QuickBooks Online (QBO). - Cash Flow Architecture: Maintaining and updating weekly 6-month rolling cash forecasts, navigating a high-complexity reimbursement environment. - Tech Stack Optimization: Utilizing and optimizing firm and client tech stack to skyrocket efficiency and remain lean. - Data Integrity: Ensuring all financial data is "dashboard-ready" for dashboard integration, specifically tracking clinical KPIs alongside financial metrics. - Operational Cadence: Being available to overlap with US Eastern/Central business hours, and maintaining high accountability using tools to manage strict deadlines and Loom for training and feedback. Qualifications - Expertise: Expert-level understanding of US accounting principles (US GAAP), including complex intercompany transactions. - Software Power User: Deep expertise in QuickBooks Online, including advanced app integrations (Ramp, Bill.com, Rippling). - Industry Context: Familiarity with the unique billing cycles of mental health or addiction treatment facilities is a significant advantage. - Automation: Proven history of leveraging AI tools and QBO automation to reduce manual entry and increase portfolio scalability. - Language: Excellent English proficiency (written and verbal).
