What you’ll do We’re looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Switchboard Engineer to join our Houston-based engineering team. In this role, you’ll be the bridge between U.S. customer requirements and our manufacturing operations in China, owning the customization and delivery of switchboard designs from concept to manufacturing release. You’ll leverage your CAD expertise and deep knowledge of UL 891 standards to develop mechanical and electrical prints that meet rigorous quality and safety benchmarks. Where you’ll work If based outside of our Houston, Long Beach or San Francisco hubs, this role will be based remotely from your home office. You must be willing to occasionally travel to one of our hub offices 3 days out of the month. Responsibilities - Customize switchboard designs based on customer specifications and project requirements - Work with our product and engineering teams to translate designs into accurate manufacturing prints - Create detailed mechanical and electrical CAD drawings in SolidWorks, adhering to UL 891 and other applicable standards - Maintain up-to-date design documentation and clearly communicate changes to relevant stakeholders - Review and verify all drawings to ensure clarity, manufacturability, and alignment with technical requirements - Troubleshoot design issues during production in collaboration with manufacturing teams - Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and deliver on deadlines - Communicate effectively across time zones to align technical deliverables and resolve any issues quickly Requirements - Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - 3+ years of experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment - Proficiency in CAD tools, particularly SolidWorks - Demonstrated experience designing UL 891-compliant low-voltage switchboards - Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and material specifications - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially when coordinating with international teams - Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at once Bonus points - Familiarity with North American electrical and manufacturing standards - Familiarity with UL 67, PDU, or medium voltage switchgear design - Familiarity with Annex G of UL 891 - Experience using PDM systems for CAD file management ( Solidworks PDM) - Background working with international or cross-functional teams in a startup or fast-paced environment - Understanding of modular data center or infrastructure products Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Giga Energy is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace. Job Requirements
- Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment

Role Description We’re seeking an experienced Transmission Planning and Modeling Engineer to join our Product Team to support the growth of our rapidly expanding flexible interconnection product. This role expands upon existing utility planning and analysis approaches to support a new interconnection model that addresses one of the principal challenges of our industry: rapid integration of unprecedented data center and industrial load growth. The successful candidate will combine a strong technical foundation with an innovative, problem-solving mindset to support the expansion of the planning product required to analyze how flexible interconnections can be structured to achieve speed-to-power while maintaining/enhancing transmission reliability. You will be responsible for integrating a variety of utility data sets to construct and run time series powerflow models. Working closely with Engineering and Customer Success teams, you’ll integrate these data sets in the Camus platform and execute the analysis. Additionally, you will help shape product development for our flexible interconnection planning platform, including input on product roadmap, capability definition, and drafting of product specifications and requirements. The problems we are addressing are new and don’t have known solutions.
