Role Description Implements process and system improvements, provides technical systems support, and coordinates the use of reporting tools, training aids, and research tools related to payroll operations. Supports all payroll functions and ensures documentation of department processes including systems, pay rules, tax setups, and year-end activities. - Analyzes business requirements and develops or approves design specifications for payroll and/or timekeeping systems. - Ensures system configurations meet specifications and validates results of system conversions, upgrades, and enhancements. - Communicates with field operations and supports policies and procedures related to payroll, time and attendance, and leave entitlement issues. - Applies advanced tools and technology to design and develop complex ad-hoc reports for facilities, leadership, and regulatory agencies. - Identifies opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes through technical and analytical expertise. - Develops and delivers training materials to enhance knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and payroll-related practices. - Maintains documentation of payroll processes, systems configurations, and compliance requirements. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Knowledge of system development, system conversion, and project management methodologies. - Advanced report writing and Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. - Intermediate understanding of computer logic and data structures. - Knowledge of SAP and/or Kronos systems. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. - Ability to travel as needed (minimal; approximately 0%-25%). Requirements - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Business Management. (Required) - Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree. Job Description As a Workday Payroll Consultant in Kainos, you’ll work in a team to implement and configure enterprise-scale Workday solutions for our global customer base. You will build relationships with our customers, shaping and delivering solutions that are aligned to customer needs, fit for purpose and commercially viable. You’ll provide excellent guidance to customers, understanding their business and requirements. You’ll support junior members of the team and share your knowledge with them.      MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:   At least 2-3 years of Workday Payroll implementation experience.  At least 2 years configuring Workday Payroll implementation from E2E with the last 3 years.  Certification in Workday United States Payroll.  The ability to build complex payroll calculations.  Experience with multiple positions.  Experience with implementing multiple FEIN’s.  US SPECIFIC:  Strong understanding of state taxes, local taxes, and FLSA calculations.    • An understanding of Workday Payroll, US Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence products and the interdependencies with Benefits, Time Tracking and Absence as well as other cross functional capabilities  • Experience with Payroll regulatory requirements (Tax, Garnishments, Common Pay Master), retirement benefits (401K etc.), payroll processing, Unions/Collective Bargaining Agreements and payroll accounting.   • Excellent customer focus, able to assess customer needs, build relationships and manage customer expectations. You will know when to push back, when to escalate, and when to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer   • Strong communicator, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with impact, credibility and empathy, including in a remote working situation.
