The PTM and ASPICE Leader is responsible for leading and enhancing engineering processes, governance, and methodologies across Stoneridge, with a strong emphasis on System Engineering, including Mechanics, Optics, Electronics, Simulation, and Validation. This role requires a strategic thinker with a focus on fostering innovation, ensuring high-quality engineering standards, and driving continuous improvement within the organization. This role plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, ensuring design robustness and maintaining high quality engineering standards across all product lines and regions. As the Leader of PTM & ASPICE, you will report directly to the VP of Engineering and work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing and Project Management. The ideal candidate will be a strong performer in a collaborative environment with a strong background in engineering management, development process optimisation, change management and aligning engineering practices with V-model based standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Engineering Process, Procedure, and Methodology: · Develop, implement, and continuously improve engineering processes, procedures, and methodologies across Mechanics, Optics, Electronics, Simulation, and Validation to ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment with organizational rules and targets. · Implement and manage a common system for project task management based on the project lifecycle to streamline tracking and execution, ensuring transparency and collaboration among teams. · Integrate ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) standards into engineering practices to ensure compliance and high-quality development processes. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate System Engineering disciplines, including Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity principles, into comprehensive product development. · Development and delivery of engineering knowledge platforms and training programs to equip engineering teams with the knowledge and skills required to comply with best practice and standards. · Promote adoption of systems engineering and model-based design practices. 1. Engineering Governance: · Establish and enforce an effective engineering governance framework to maintain compliance, risk management, and quality assurance across all engineering projects, with an emphasis on Mechanics, Optics, Electronics, and Simulation practices. · Lead the development of standardized metrics and KPIs to monitor and evaluate engineering performance, project outcomes, and lifecycle management. · Facilitate regular process audits and assessments to ensure engineering teams follow defined processes and methodologies. · Facilitate the creation and maintenance of engineering guidelines, ensuring uniform decision-making and accountability across all technical domains. · Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into project progress, task completion, and resource allocation, enabling data-driven decision-making and efficient monitoring of project milestones and deliverables. 2. DRG Process Owner: · Act as the global owner of the Design Review Gate (DRG) process, ensuring consistent application and execution throughout product development cycles. · Mentor cross-functional DRG reviews at each gate to ensure product design maturity, risk mitigation and alignment with project milestones. · Provide guidance and training to engineering teams on effective preparation and participation in DRG reviews. · Conduct regular assessments of the DRG process to identify areas for improvement and ensure it aligns with the strategic goals of the organization, incorporating feedback and lessons learned from mechanics, optics, electronics, and overall project task management, and alignment with project milestones. · Ensure the DRG process utilizes comprehensive dashboards for effective visualization of project status, enabling proactive management decisions. 3. DFMEA Audits: · Oversee the System DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) audit process, covering Mechanics, Software (SW) and Hardware (HW) aspects, to ensure thorough risk assessment and identification of potential design failures, particularly through integration with simulation and validation activities. · Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure DFMEA findings are integrated into design improvement plans and corrective actions are effectively implemented. · Provide training and guidance on DFMEA best practices and tools, enhancing the team's capability in conducting comprehensive risk assessments across Mechanical, Optical, Electronics. · To ensure that processes meet the highest automotive industry standards while contributing to the organisation's quality assurance and risk management strategies by establishing a common approach to IATF audits in the R&D competence. · Coach engineering teams in DFMEA best practices to enhance product reliability and safety. · Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Functional Safety and Cybersecurity teams and managers to integrate DFMEA outputs into the broader product validation and verification processes. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field. · Extensive experience in engineering management with a focus on process optimization, system engineering, and governance. · Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and managing engineering audits and reviews. · Strong knowledge of ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), and Cybersecurity principles. · Demonstrated expertise in integrating Mechanics, Optics, Electronics, Simulation, and Validation into engineering processes. · Experience in managing System, SW and HW DFMEA processes and integrating findings into engineering improvements. · Proficiency in project task management systems and dashboard creation for enhanced project lifecycle management. · Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively drive cross-functional initiatives. · In-depth knowledge of industry standards and engineering best practices. · Fluent in English.
