This role involves designing sophisticated healthcare applications, mentoring senior engineers, and collaborating closely with Product and Design teams. Responsibilities - System Design & Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of complex systems, ensuring scalability and performance. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our next gen products in health and wellbeing, delivering new and innovative experiences to our growing customer base - Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, especially to senior engineers, promoting best practices and high coding standards. - Code Development: Write, review, and maintain code in a variety of languages and frameworks, such as NestJS, .NET, TypeScript, and React, ensuring high quality and adherence to company standards. - Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering team leaders to define technical requirements for complex, multi-projects and ensure alignment with business goals. - Project Management: Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software. Qualifications - 7+ years of experience in designing, building, and deploying large, scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures. - System Design & Architecture: Proven ability to lead the design and architecture of complex systems, ensuring scalability and performance. - Technical Leadership: Ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, particularly senior engineers, promoting best practices and high coding standards. - Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong capability to work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering team leaders to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with business goals. - Strong understanding of relational databases, including query optimization and data modeling principles. - Excellent communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences - Independence and Curiosity: Highly independent and curious, demonstrating efficiency in utilizing available resources and thinking creatively to find solutions. - Expertise in at least one framework, such as TypeScript, Next.js, NestJS, or React. - Hands on experience with .NET and C#. - Practical experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, including containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in developing infrastructure as code to deploy software applications, cloud services, front-end and back-end services, databases, and ci/cd pipelines. - Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work on-call rotation as incident escalation SME on weekend and holiday hours, at a cadence around once every 2-3 months. For Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC-based employment: In accordance with the Pay Transparency laws the pay range for this position is $170,000- 180,000. The compensation package may include stock options, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, generous PTO, stipends for professional development, and wellness benefits. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. The range listed only applies to Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC. • Plan, develop, maintain, and refactor front and backend systems using Ruby on Rails with Hotwire/Turbo/Stimulus in accordance with the team’s established software development lifecycle. • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and fellow engineers throughout the product life cycle. • Ensure the platform's infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient. • Actively contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the team through participation in forums like architecture reviews and guilds.

• Drive the architectural vision for our platform, including the evolution of event-driven patterns, service boundaries, performance expectations, and long-term scalability. • Lead AI strategy within engineering, including the adoption of AI-accelerated developer tooling, code generation, automated testing, and pipeline automation to improve delivery speed and quality. • Own greenfield architectural decisions, including technology selection, service design, and infrastructure strategy, establishing the foundation the team will build on for years. • Provide leadership across application, network, and infrastructure security, including secure coding practices, OWASP considerations, and integration of DAST, SCA, and SAST tooling. • Work with product to refine MVP scope, introduce instrumentation where appropriate, and measure feature usage and return on investment. • Drive team SDLC processes, including feature management, testing practices, pull request quality, CI/CD pipelines, security posture, performance benchmarks, usability, and developer experience tooling enhanced with AI. • Lead and support the recruiting process for engineers, including helping build an evaluation process that incorporates AI readiness and modern engineering practices. • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
