Job Description
Strategy and Operations Associate
Snout
š¶ Our mission Every pet should get the care they need, regardless of cost. Vet med prices are up 40% since 2020, and pet owners are stuck having to pick between their bank account and furry friend. At Snout, we aim to solve this by enabling clinics to offer pet wellness plans, that actually work. š The opportunity Snout is one of the fastest-growing wellness plan providers in veterinary care, trusted by clinics across the U.S. We just closed a $10M Series A and a $100M financing facility because millions of pets are quietly missing basic care, not from lack of love, but fear of the bill at the front desk. We're building the infrastructure that changes that, and we're looking for a Strategy and Operations Associate (remote, U.S. based) to partner directly with our Founder and CEO on cross-functional initiatives and investor relations. š» The role As a Strategy and Operations Associate, you'll be the CEO's hands-on partner and force multiplier, operating at the intersection of strategy, operations, and execution. You'll drive critical company initiatives, prepare executive level analyses and presentations for investors and the board, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks as we scale from Series A to B. This role requires someone who can seamlessly switch between building financial models, preparing board decks, managing strategic projects, creating playbooks, etc. Itās a bonus if you have experience managing legal conversations and compliance requirements (regulatory, PCI, SOC2, etc.) This is your chance to help turn our ambitious vision into reality by scaling and operationalizing departments at an early stage startup. You'll support our leadership team in securing any funding rounds or financing, and orchestrate cross-functional initiatives that move the business forward as an overarching project manager. You will navigate the full spectrum of business functions: from operations to marketing to finance to recruitment to legal/compliance, etc. where youāll drive impact wherever the business needs you most. If you're motivated by outsized impact, energized by variety and velocity, and ready to be the strategic force multiplier that helps scale a mission-driven company ā we want you on our team! Snout is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We know that great candidates may not check every box ā and thatās okay. If you're excited about this role and our mission, we encourage you to apply if you meet at least 75% of qualifications including the first bullet. If you need any accommodations during the application or interview process, please let us know ā weāre happy to support you. š What youāll do - Partner directly with the CEO on strategic planning, decision-making, and execution of company-wide priorities, driving cross-functional initiatives from conception to completion as a project manager - Drive preparation of board materials, investor updates, and fundraising presentations, managing relationships with key investors, board members, and strategic partners - Work with finance to build financial models, create executive dashboards that translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations - Build playbooks and operationalize departments - Manage and coordinate legal requirements and compliance considerations like trademarking, regulatory, PCI, SOC2, etc. across strategic initiatives - Negotiate and secure vendor contracts š”What we're looking for - 2+ years of experience in finance (investment banking or private equity strongly preferred) or startup operations - Strong analytical and data skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, financial modeling, and data visualization tools - Ability to drive impactful cross-organization projects to completion - Exceptional communication skills with proven experience creating polished, executive-level presentations and materials - Experience managing legal conversations and requirements - Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity, organize, prioritize, and drive results independently - Ability to travel a few times quarterly and is located nearby an airport š What will make you stand out - Completion of a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program - Track record of managing investor relationships or experience in fundraising environments - Experience in veterinary, healthcare, fintech, or subscription-based business models - Familiarity with SQL, Tableau, or other advanced analytics tools - Prior exposure to Series A-C stage startups or venture capital - Experience supporting C-suite executives in high-growth environments š Why you should join Snout - Fast growing, venture capital backed technology company focused on improving access to veterinary care - Ability to have a meaningful impact from Day 1, where your voice and opinion matters - Unlimited potential to grow in your career, learn and expand your skillsets - Collaborative, flexible, and friendly culture ā Why this role might not be a fit for you - Interacting with investors and C-suite executives feels intimidating to you - High-pressure situations with competing priorities and tight deadlines is not something you are used to - Data analysis, financial modeling, and building sophisticated spreadsheets aren't among your core strengths - You're most comfortable with clearly defined expectations rather than navigating ambiguity and pioneering new approaches - You don't live near an airport, are unable to travel quarterly šø Compensation - $120 000 - $150 000 base salary - Equity āļøBenefits - Day 1 medical/dental/vision benefits - Flexible time off + 11 Snout calendar holidays - Paid parental leave
