Role Description Trauma and orthopedic surgeons specialize in the treatment of patients who have sustained traumatic injuries such as accidents, falls, or sports-related incidents. This position plays a crucial role in the acute care and long-term recovery of patients with traumatic injuries. Their work requires a combination of surgical skill, medical knowledge, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Trauma and Orthopedic surgeons will typically work in emergency units, operating theaters, inpatient wards, intensive care units, and rehabilitation units. - Examine, diagnose, perform surgical and non-surgical procedures, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe pre- and post-operative medications. - May work day- or night shifts, have unpredictable hours, and conduct surgeries under severe time constraints. - Must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications - Successful completion of medical school to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, or the local equivalent. - Completion of a post-graduate training program in orthopedic surgery or general surgery with adequate exposure to acute traumatic injuries. - 3 years' experience in acute trauma care; fellowship training in traumatology (orthopedics) or in trauma surgery, critical care surgery, or acute care surgery is acceptable. - Obtain a medical license by passing the licensing exams required by the relevant medical board. - Certification by a relevant medical board, such as the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American College of Surgeons (ACS) is highly recommended. - Proficiency in a range of surgical techniques used in trauma or orthopedic surgery. - Significant clinical experience in treating trauma cases, particularly in emergency settings. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team. - Ability to work well under pressure, make quick decisions in emergency situations, and manage stress associated with trauma surgery. - Adherence to ethical and professional standards in medical practice, including maintaining patient confidentiality and demonstrating a commitment to patient welfare. Requirements - Conduct thorough and timely medical histories and physical examinations to diagnose traumatic injuries. - Order diagnostic tests and use medical imaging, such as Ultrasound, X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. - Develop comprehensive treatment plans based on the diagnosis and patient condition. - Perform non-surgical and emergency procedures as appropriate. - Perform surgical procedures to repair or mitigate morbidity from traumatic injuries. - Provide immediate resuscitation, stabilization, and other emergency care to trauma patients. - Work closely with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. - Oversee the postoperative care of patients, including critical care, wound management, pain control, and rehabilitation. - Educate patients and their families about the nature of their injuries, treatment options, and expected outcomes. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients. - Provide leadership within the orthopedic surgery team, especially in trauma cases. - Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice. Included Health is seeking a Remote Psychiatrist to join our team of dedicated mental health clinicians, under the guidance of a Medical Director. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. This role offers the opportunity to help redefine healthcare by providing compassionate, high-quality virtual care to patients across their healthcare journey. You will use video-based visits to diagnose and treat a wide variety of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. You will provide Psychotropic medication management to assist patients with problems ranging from short-term interpersonal issues to severe, chronic conditions. By using medical and psychiatric data, psychiatrists will aid in the development of treatment plans, monitor the effects of medications, and collaborate with primary care physicians, psychologists, therapists and other healthcare professionals to help patients restore their optimal mental health. Responsibilities: - Assess patients through a video-based encounter - Perform virtual comprehensive mental health evaluations, compile patient medical data, including health history and mental status examination findings - Psychotropic medication management including evaluation of patient medical history, and medication response, adherence and tolerability for each individual patient treated - Develop and implement behavioral health treatment plans, evaluate results of mental health assessments, and provide medication management to patients - Collect, record and maintain sensitive patient information such as examination results, medical history and reports - Conduct monthly chart reviews as part of our peer review QA process, as assigned Qualifications and Requirements: - Active and unrestricted M.D. or D.O. medical license in the state of residence required - Graduate of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency program - Keep up-to-date with continuing medical education - Comfortability navigating video-conferencing platforms and willingness to learn new technology, such as Athena - Experience with technology and an understanding of digital tools and platforms The United States compensation for this Independent Contractor Position is $206 per visit hour.
