Role Description First & Third is a fully remote boutique web design and development agency specializing in UX/UI, development, and strategy for ecommerce and content-driven brands. We’re looking for a part-time contract Web Designer to support client work and internal initiatives. This role will report directly to our lead designer and is focused on executional design support, including wireframes, UI production, and maintaining clean, developer-ready Figma files. You’ll help translate strategic direction and design feedback into polished, production-ready work, enabling the design team to operate more efficiently and at a higher strategic level. What you’ll do - Design responsive web experiences based on provided strategy, direction, and feedback - Create and iterate on wireframes → high-fidelity UI → polished prototypes - Set up and maintain clean, scalable Figma files (components, libraries, naming conventions) - Implement design feedback efficiently across multiple breakpoints and templates - Extend existing design systems and build new components/modules - Prepare production-ready assets and clean handoffs for developers - Collaborate closely with the lead designer, strategists, PMs, and engineers in Slack + Figma Qualifications - 3–5+ years of professional web or product design experience - Experience working in a web or digital agency environment with multiple clients and fast-moving timelines - Strong UX fundamentals (layout, hierarchy, accessibility, responsive design) - Expert in Figma (components, auto layout, design systems) - Experience with Adobe CC - Experience preparing assets for development (image formats, specs, performance awareness) - Comfortable incorporating AI-assisted design tools (generative imagery, workflow automation, etc.) to accelerate production - Clear written + verbal communication - Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and how layouts translate to code - Experience working remotely and managing your own time - Portfolio of shipped web work Requirements - Takes ownership and follows through - Asks smart questions before jumping to solutions - Balances speed with craft - Can juggle multiple projects without dropping details - Communicates proactively Hiring Process - Apply with resume + portfolio + brief web design experience summary - Intro conversation - Design interview with the lead designer - Contract offer Company Description First & Third helps organizations turn strategy into high-impact digital experiences. Job Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of professional web or product design experience
  • Experience working in a web or digital agency environment with multiple clients and fast-moving timelines
  • Strong UX fundamentals (layout, hierarchy, accessibility, responsive design)
  • Expert in Figma (components, auto layout, design systems)
  • Experience with Adobe CC
  • Experience preparing assets for development (image formats, specs, performance awareness)
