Role Description The Vice President, Development & Strategic Partnerships (VP) leads the organization’s external presence and partnership strategy—overseeing brand, communications, and institutional partnerships to elevate visibility, engagement, and revenue. The VP also provides strategic oversight of development operations, ensuring that fundraising systems, data, and stewardship processes are efficient, accurate, and support relationship-based fundraising. The role manages a team of several staff and key contractors around communications, events, and grant writers. Responsibilities - Individual and Corporate Giving Strategy and Execution (25%) - Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy to grow individual and corporate giving, aligning philanthropic investments with brand partnership opportunities and organizational priorities. - Cultivate and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals, corporate leaders, and partners to drive major gifts, sponsorships, and long-term commitments. - Design and oversee integrated campaigns that connect storytelling, marketing, and donor engagement to deepen loyalty and increase lifetime value. - Partner with the CEO, Board, and Development leadership to identify, solicit, and close transformational gifts and partnerships. - Build a culture of generosity and partnership across the organization—bridging marketing, programs, and development to deliver exceptional donor experiences and measurable impact. - Brand, Marketing & Communications (25%) - Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that builds awareness and trust among key audiences. - Collaborate closely with the CEO and senior leadership to design and implement an executive communications plan that advances thought leadership, amplifies visibility, and aligns with organizational priorities. - Oversee the creation of consistent, compelling content, such as digital, print, media, and thought leadership. Align content with the BranchED’s mission and values. - Develop marketing and fundraising collateral and manage external creative partners, including graphic design vendors, to ensure high-quality, on-brand publications and materials. - Manage media relations, public positioning, and messaging for campaigns, events, and announcements. - Partner with program teams to translate impact data and stories into strategic communications materials. - Oversee digital channels (website, social media, newsletters) to drive engagement and conversions. - Strategic Partnerships (25%) - Develop a partnership strategy and manage strategic alliances with peer organizations to advance shared goals. - Support co-branded initiatives, sponsorships, and public-private partnerships that amplify mission reach. - Identify and cultivate relationships with leaders in philanthropy, education, edtech, innovation, and social impact ecosystems. - Negotiate partnership agreements, deliverables, and mutual value propositions. - Events & Engagement (15%) - Lead planning and execution of all program events and community outreach activities. - Establish a calendar of high-impact events with clear metrics for success. - Strategic Leadership (10%) - Serve as a member of the leadership team, contributing to organization-wide strategic planning and decision-making. - Establish and monitor KPIs for marketing, communication, events, partnerships, and development operations to ensure measurable ROI and continuous improvement.
