Your Role: As a Senior Commercial Insurance Analyst, you will support the overall business strategy by performing analysis to provide data informed decisions. You will formulate solutions and recommendations to complex business problems or processes. You will utilize your insurance knowledge and analytic methods and technical skills to extract actionable insights to inform business strategy and provide valuable risk management recommendations. You will play a crucial role in shaping the data foundation and fostering a robust data focused culture. You will participate in and may lead large cross-functional projects. You will provide guidance, mentorship and training to develop lower-level associates, with accountability for team success. Your Work: - Performs complex data analysis for commercial insurance related to overall business objectives. Research includes enlisting the collaboration of different departments and gaining their support on findings and action plan. - Types of analyses may range from, but not limited to, root cause, cost benefit, performance tracking, forecasting, and exploration, with a strong focus on generating actionable insights. - Applies knowledge gained from involvement in broader issues to make recommendations for procedure development and analysis needed for securing desired solution. - Consults with client group to identify and scope business needs and issues. Determines course of action, timeline and necessary participants. Prepares findings and recommendations for clients and presents to senior leaders. - Partners closely with IT partners to provide business definitions and data architectural inputs, perform User Acceptance Testing on digital and data assets. - Creates and maintains key business intelligence artifacts, will be the owner and SME on the accuracy and logic. The starting pay range for this position across all the states we hire in is $110,700.00-$147,500.00.  This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 10% of eligible pay. Award Management - Provides internal notice of award (NOA), including sponsor award documents, to SPA and the PI, noting any special terms and conditions as well as committed effort on basic to moderately complex awards. - Monitors and works with PI to submit annual agency reports (e.g., Research Performance Progress Reports/RPPRs). - Teams with the Post-Award unit on revised budgets. - Oversees and coordinates the proper transfer of PI grants and contracts into WashU.
