Role Description Join our Technology Team as a Senior Database Administrator located in various offices. We are seeking a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. - Responsible for architecting, administering and optimizing all enterprise SQL Server databases - Ensures security, reliability, and scalability of databases - Collaborates with application owners and IT teams to support business operations - Provides technical guidance to users accessing enterprise data Key Responsibilities - Maintains all enterprise SQL database operations including SQL server updates and patches - Maintains database security and compliance with company, industry and government standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) - Reviews current architecture and updates and optimizes all the firm's enterprise database systems - Architects and implements new database systems - Proactively monitors database performance and performs database tuning for optimal performance - Troubleshoots enterprise database servers and related systems - Supports system audits and provides documentation as required - Plans testing and implementation of DR and backup processes to ensure continuous operation - Creates custom queries, data-driven SSRS subscriptions, migration scripts, and executes other tasks as needed Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in design, development, administration, and maintenance of enterprise-level MS SQL Server database systems - Demonstrable experience configuring, operating and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server, both on-prem and cloud environments - Demonstrable experience in database design, creating standards and processes, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, accessibility, scalability and documentation for SQL Server - Demonstrable experience in development of complex queries, SSIS Packages and SSRS reports Skills & Competencies - Sound understanding of SQL Server technology features and limitations - In-depth, advanced knowledge of SQL Server database structures, security, storage solutions, virtualization, replication, and clustering - Ability to create performance projections based upon hardware, OS, databases design, query structures and interactions between external systems with the database servers - Ability to evaluate and recommend technological changes in the database environment to support business objectives - Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell) - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate technical details to persons without technical experience - Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Ability to accurately follow documented procedures and a strong aptitude for learning new technologies as they are incorporated into the computing environment Company Description GT is an EEO employer with an inclusive workplace committed to merit-based consideration and review without regard to an individual’s race, sex, or other protected characteristics and to the principles of non-discrimination on any protected basis.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in design, development, administration, and maintenance of enterprise-level MS SQL Server database systems
  • Demonstrable experience configuring, operating and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server, both on-prem and cloud environments
