Contract Learning Consultant

Role Description The Learning Consultant (LDTC) will provide comprehensive educational evaluations, consultation, and recommendations for students with autism and related learning differences. This role involves collaboration with families, behavior analysts, therapists, and school personnel to ensure that students receive appropriate educational programming and supports. This is a flexible contract position ideal for an experienced professional who values collaboration, autonomy, and student-centered practice. Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive educational and psychoeducational evaluations - Interpret assessment data and develop detailed written reports - Participate in IEP meetings and provide educational recommendations - Collaborate with BCBAs, therapists, and other service providers - Provide consultation to families and school teams regarding instructional strategies and accommodations - Support the development of individualized educational plans aligned with student needs - Maintain compliance with state regulations and professional standards Qualifications - Valid New Jersey LDTC certification (required) - Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, Special Education, or related field - Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder - Strong assessment, report writing, and communication skills - Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team - Independent, organized, and detail-oriented Preferred Qualifications - Experience in school-based and/or clinical settings - Familiarity with ABA principles and behavior support planning - Bilingual (a plus) Benefits - Flexible scheduling - Competitive contract rates - Supportive and collaborative team environment - Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families - Administrative support for scheduling and coordination

Job Requirements

We are looking for a Psychiatric Consultant to join our Collaborative Care team. The Psychiatric Consultant supports the Collaborative Care team—the primary care provider, patient, and Behavioral Health Care Manager—through regular consultation on an assigned caseload of patients. The Psychiatric Consultant advises the primary care provider on appropriate medications and other treatment strategies, also providing the care team with educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions. It is a remote 1099 contract position, operating on Eastern Time. Talkspace’s headquarters are located in NYC. What You’ll Do - Clinical Oversight - Provide regularly scheduled (usually weekly) caseload consultation to Behavioral Health Care Managers. Case review consultations focus primarily on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan. Case reviews may be conducted by telephone, video, or in person. - Work with Behavioral Health Care Managers to oversee the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload. - Treatment Adjustment & Transitions of Care - Recommend any treatment adjustments through the case review process or in ad hoc consultations, including medication recommendations and other interventions, within 24 hours of consulting with a Behavioral Health Care Manager or other team members. - Advise on treatment for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care, supporting treatment in the medical setting until patients can be engaged in specialized care as appropriate. - Be available to provide occasional ad hoc telephone consultation to primary care providers for very complex patients or challenging patient situations. About You - Licensed Psychologist or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) required; Dual Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) preferred - Licensed in two or more of the following states: - Connecticut - Illinois - New Jersey - New York - Experience in a Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) or equivalent - Demonstrated understanding of the Collaborative Care model for mental health service delivery in Primary Care settings - Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations - Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting - Excellent communication skills - Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude Compensation At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
