Conveyor is looking for an extremely specific Senior Product Designer to help us tackle our next big challenge: building a new product experience that extends our AI-powered trust platform into uncharted territory. This role combines scientific method with startup speed for massive potential impact. Our future designer is someone who's excited to tackle problems that might not have solutions, lives to build for users with competing motivations and behaviors, refuses to leave a call without learning something that changes their thinking, and celebrates having a prototype crash and burn during testing because it means they just saved the team immeasurable energy spent building the wrong thing. This is not a traditional design role. If you're someone who needs detailed briefs with clear requirements, stable roadmaps, comfy timelines, and predictable outcomes, this role is guaranteed to make you miserable. But if you're energized by figuring out what to build while you're building it and love the thrill of discovering breakthrough solutions that no one has thought of before, this might be the perfect next adventure for you. You'll be designing for multiple interconnected user types with competing priorities. Each group has different needs, different levels of technical sophistication, and completely different definitions of success. You’ll need to understand not just what each group wants, but also how their motivations clash and where those tensions create opportunities, in order to make this complexity feel simple. Reporting to our Director of Design and working closely with partners in PM and engineering, you’ll be leading product discovery, making ideas tangible (and testable!) via prototyping, and rapidly iterating as you learn what’s foundational to the new product concepts we're still discovering. This role requires a specific kind of designer: - You've shipped products from scratch before end-to-end, likely as the first or only designer, and can trace what launched and its impact back to foundational decisions you made - You're addicted to learning, and you iterate at lightning speed because you know exactly when you have just enough information to make a call and move forward. You measure success by insights gained per hour spent rather than pixels polished or features shipped. - You're energized by customer conversations and can change direction instantly when you learn something new - You’re a MacGyver-esque scrappy and creative problem solver who takes inspiration from different industries, products, and first principles - You have multi-stakeholder or platform product experience, and can deftly navigate designing for complex ecosystems where different user types have competing needs - You have strong visual design fundamentals – hierarchy, spacing, typography – that help you create experiences that are clean and intuitive, keeping complexity from becoming clutter That’s me! But, uh, who are you? We’re Conveyor 👋creators of the first AI-powered customer trust platform. We solve a problem that our customers "hate with the fury of 1000 suns" (actual quote!) – the dreaded customer security review. It's a key part of the B2B sales cycle, but one that still involves too much time, effort, and mental anguish from those involved. Enter Conveyor, where our vision is instant, perfect security reviews for everyone. We've made a lot of progress – we raised our Series B, have an awesome customer list whose lives we've significantly impacted through product, and our LinkedIn presence is quite literally on fire. Here’s 3 1/2 reasons you should be interested in working at Conveyor: - You'll be designing a new product from the ground up. This isn't about iterating on an existing playbook – it's about figuring out how to serve multiple distinct user types with competing needs in an ecosystem where everyone has different goals, constraints, and levels of sophistication. If you love tackling novel, complex problems, this is your jam. - Everyone on the team is amazing at their jobs, which enables us to have a high-trust environment. We care deeply about psychological safety among the team, and believe that the ability to take risks and exist in the learning zone is critical to our success. This also comes with high accountability, which isn't for everyone. But it means that everyone here has the potential to have an outsize impact on the direction and success of the company. - We're highly transparent so team members have the context they need to make good decisions. Giving constructive, thoughtful feedback and asking hard questions are highly encouraged! We're also collaborative – we come together to figure it out when times are hard, and come together in celebration when we get our wins. Plus we'll teach you how to saber a bottle of champagne! Compensation and Benefits Since we believe that having high performing teammates is crucial to our success, we benchmark our compensation at the 75th percentile (Bay Area, for everyone) compared to other startups of our size using industry data. We also do regular compensation reviews to ensure that you never have to ask in order to be making market compensation. The salary range for this role is $170,000 - $185,000 plus equity. In addition, we provide every employee with: - Comprehensive benefits package with employee medical, dental, and vision - 401k plan - Flexible vacation policy, with a recommended minimum of 20 days off - 14 weeks of paid parental leave - $1000 home office budget to set up your most productive working environment - Annual professional development budget available to attend conferences, events, and trainings - Company travel to team onsites 1-2 times per year where we come together to connect, collaborate, and eat exceptionally good food Applicants in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa or Illinois will be geographically close to key team members. Please let us know in your application if you live in these states. This role is open to applicants in the US and Canada. You do not need a background or any expertise in security, compliance, or platform products – just an appetite for learning complex domains and solving hard problems. Also, we know it's tough, but please try to avoid the confidence gap. You don't have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role ("I definitely didn't when I joined!" — Sydney, our Director of Design). What to expect Within 1 day you will… Hit the ground running – you’ll be talking to customers, building prototypes, and influencing product direction from day one. Ok, ok, maybe day two, so we can set up your official email address and have you go through security training first. That’s it. That’s the timeline. How to apply This is an atypical role with an atypical hiring process. Like all of our design roles, we’ve tried to design it so that we can assess the critical skills we need for this role without undue burden on candidates. To submit an application, please submit the following materials: - A link to a prototype (any fidelity) that you used to test something in the past 12 months, with an explanation (<250 words) of what you were testing, your reasoning for this approach, and what you learned. - Your written answer (<150 words) to this prompt : A fitness app wants to create a network connecting personal trainers with potential clients. The working hypothesis is: 'Trainers want more clients, so they'll value a platform that helps them find people looking for fitness help.' The team hasn't spoken to any trainers or potential clients yet. Which stakeholder group would you start with? What kinds of questions would you want to ask them? Why? - Portfolio link (optional) Please limit your submission to these materials only. Thank you!
