Role Description The AI Instructor will support the School Outreach Coordinator in delivering the Institute's AI literacy program across schools and membership communities. This role is primarily focused on teaching AI concepts to students and members, ensuring that every session is engaging, accessible, and aligned with the Institute's curriculum. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver advanced AI literacy sessions to the AI-4AI community as part of the Institute’s membership programme. - Design and prepare curriculum for advanced AI literacy tailored to the needs of the AI-4AI community. - Monitor and track knowledge growth within the community based on delivered topics and learning outcomes. - Stay up to date with emerging AI trends, tools, and developments, demonstrating a strong capacity for continuous learning. - Maintain a solid grounding in advanced AI literacy concepts and their practical applications. - Support the delivery of AI literacy sessions to secondary school students during outreach visits, in alignment with the Institute’s approved curriculum. - Facilitate clear, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences for diverse student audiences. - Support the School Outreach Coordinator in the planning and execution of outreach activities. - Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, session guides, and handouts ahead of outreach engagements. - Maintain accurate attendance records and session notes and provide timely updates to the School Outreach Coordinator after each engagement. - Incorporate participant feedback to continuously improve the quality, relevance, and delivery of AI literacy sessions. - Contribute actively to the achievement of the Institute’s mission and vision. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, a STEM field, or a related discipline. - 1–3 years of experience in teaching, tutoring, or training facilitation. - Familiarity with AI concepts and tools relevant to beginner and intermediate audiences. - Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills. - Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from a coordinator. Job Overview: The Product Designer Team Lead (Volunteer) will guide the design team in creating world-class, user-centered experiences for AI literacy programs and tools—including the offline AI literacy app at AI-4AI. This role combines design strategy, leadership, and hands-on design work, ensuring every project is accessible, culturally relevant, and aligned with AI-4AI’s mission to empower diverse African communities. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, mentor, and grow the product design team, fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity. - Design user-centered experiences for AI literacy programs and digital tools, including the offline AI literacy app. - Conduct user research to deeply understand the unique needs of diverse African communities, ensuring their voices guide design decisions. - Create wireframes, prototypes, and design solutions using Figma and other relevant design tools. - Ensure all designs are accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant, closely aligned with AI-4AI’s mission and values. - Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver well-crafted products—and, where possible, to define and implement effective design systems. - Apply UX writing principles to craft clear, user-friendly content when needed. - Present and communicate design concepts, strategy, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Stay updated on design best practices, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement. - Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: - Minimum 4 years in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role. - Proven track record designing for diverse user bases and accessibility. - Strong portfolio showing user-centered, high-impact projects. - Advanced proficiency in Figma; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar tools. - Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
