Role Description As an After Hours Nurse Practitioner, you will deliver care using Thyme Care’s platform, phone, or synchronous audio & video during nights and weekends. You’ll have the opportunity to support members with off-hours, time-sensitive needs by clinically assessing the urgency and severity of symptoms and directing the appropriate care through: - Direct management - Recommendation for a next-day appointment - Referral for an emergent in-person evaluation This is a remote, part-time role. Compensation will include a $1,000 weekly retainer plus $100 per hour for every hour in which a call begins (maximum of an additional $1,000). For any virtual visits provided, $150 will be compensated per visit. Your primary duties will include: - Answering inbound clinical calls, assessing clinical status, and triaging to the appropriate level of care. - Available for provider escalations on Saturdays for nursing staff. - Managing clinical care telephonically or via synchronous audio & video during non-business hours - arranged in rotating coverage of Monday-Thursday (11:00 PM EST - 8:00 AM EST) and Friday-Monday (Friday 11:00 PM EST - 8:00 AM Monday). Virtual visits are only offered on holidays and weekends from 10-7 EST. - Using our Thyme Care & EHR (Elation) platforms to document appropriately, place orders, and schedule follow-up tasks. - Providing member-centered, trauma-informed, evidence-based medical care in alignment with Thyme Care Medical Group guidelines, practices, and policies. - Collaboration with Thyme Care RNs, non-clinical staff, and physicians. This role reports to our Nurse Practitioner Manager. All patient interactions will be virtual via telephone, video, text, or our proprietary virtual care platform. Qualifications - At least 3 years of NP experience, including 2 years in adult oncology with urgent care responsibilities. - At least one year of telehealth experience. - An unrestricted license and a willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed. - Exceptional experience at a startup or tech-forward company is a plus. - Unrestricted compact RN and APN license to practice medicine in a majority of the following states: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. Requirements - Skilled in juggling multiple tasks and working under pressure without sacrificing organization in communications and documentation. - Effective listener and communicator, able to build rapport and excellent working relationships with members and colleagues. - Comfort with ambiguity in fast-paced environments. - A desire to learn how to use new technologies, including experience with video chatting, Google Suite, Slack, and electronic health records. - Ability to identify priorities and take action to address urgent and important needs.
