As part of a cross-functional Growth team including Product, Engineering, and Data, you will shape how customers discover value, activate quickly, and expand their use of the 8am platform. Working closely with Product and Engineering leaders, you will translate product-led growth strategies into experiments and product experiences that improve the customer journey and business outcomes. In this role, you will lead growth initiatives across the customer lifecycle, including onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, and expansion. You should be comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on design, and thrive in fast-moving environments where experimentation and iteration drive progress. What you'll do: Lead Growth Initiatives - Partner with Product to identify and lead the growth roadmap and experimentation backlog, identifying opportunities across onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization. - Translate growth strategies and hypotheses into experiments, product improvements, and scalable experiences. - Design experiences such as onboarding flows, feature discovery, in-product education, and expansion or upgrade paths. Drive Experimentation and Learning - Partner with Product and Engineering to shape and run experiments, including A/B tests and iterative product improvements. - Use behavioral data, usability testing, customer feedback and funnel analysis to inform and validate design decisions and uncover growth opportunities. - Define success metrics and evaluate the impact of shipped work. Partner with Product and Engineering Leadership - Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leaders, and Growth stakeholders to shape initiatives and align on priorities. - Contribute design perspective and user insight to product strategy and roadmap discussions. - Help teams navigate tradeoffs between experimentation, technical constraints, and long-term product quality. Deliver High-Quality Product Design - Produce clear user flows, prototypes, and polished UI across the design lifecycle. - Ensure growth optimizations maintain clarity, trust, and usability for professional users while preserving long-term product quality. - Identify repeatable growth patterns and contribute them to the design system helping ensure consistent and scalable experiences across the platform. About you: - 6–10 years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating ownership of complex product problems and measurable impact. - Experience designing B2B SaaS products, ideally within fintech or other complex platforms. - Strong understanding of product-led growth and product funnels, including onboarding, activation, retention, and expansion. - Experience working in experimentation-driven environments, including A/B testing and hypothesis-driven product development. - Strong product thinking with the ability to connect user needs, product strategy, and business outcomes. - Ability to form and communicate clear design opinions, influence cross-functional partners, and collaborate effectively with Product and Engineering leaders. - Ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, delivering high-quality design using modern product design tools (Figma). Nice to have: - Experience working on growth-focused product teams. - Familiarity with product analytics and experimentation tools. - Experience designing monetization, upsell, or expansion experiences. - Experience in fintech, legal tech, or other regulated industries. Additional Information The annual salary range for this position is $119,000 to $178,000. The salary range for performing this role outside of the US / Austin / California may differ. 8am is committed to offering competitive, fair and commensurate compensation and has provided an estimated pay range for this role. The Senior Experience Strategist & UX Designer Lead will work in concert with other team members to help pin-point the client’s problem and identify, design, and test the right, best, and most viable solution to address it. The ideal candidate for this role combines a thoughtful, strategic perspective with strong application of human-centered design methods in day-to-day work. They collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams while managing their own design work and contributing meaningful insights to projects. They have a track record of strong UX and experience design deliverables and are continuing to deepen their strategic thinking and impact. Responsibilities - Maintain the consumer’s best interests in mind at all times, while balancing user needs with client business objectives to create valuable, usable experiences. Understand the project goals and help identify what data or information we need to support those goals, contributing to insights that inform successful outcomes. - Help define and support research efforts needed to gain insights and drive the project strategy. The target range of base compensation for this role is $120,000 - $140,000.
