City: Houston State: Texas Job Description Authorized Inspector Supervisor: Bureau Veritas Inspection and Insurance Company (Houston, TX) seeks Authorized Inspector Supervisor to review and verify implementation of accepted quality control/quality assurance standards for mechanical equipment/manufacturing processes. Monitor quality control inspection process through site surveys and operations audits to ensure that inspection procedures for mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes meet applicable standards and regulatory requirements. Inspect mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes, alongside a team of Authorized Inspectors. Document nonconforming activities uncovered in relation to mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes. Initiate corrective actions where nonconforming activities have been identified. Verify and approve that the necessary corrective actions have taken place. Ensure that subordinate Authorized Inspectors are maintaining an Inspector Diary that records the dates of all audits and site visits. Provide training and development to subordinate Authorized Inspectors, as required, to ensure that Authorized Inspectors have the required competency for given assignments. Apply technical knowledge of mechanical engineering methods to increase quality control efficiency. Maintain awareness and knowledge of current inspection and auditing methods and techniques; interpret and incorporate applicable regulatory and technological developments in mechanical engineering. May telecommute from anywhere in the US. Requires occasional travel to client worksites around the U.S. to conduct site surveys and operations audits. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related field, and two (2) years of experience in the boiler and pressure vessel industry, including design fabrication, operation, repair and alteration, inspection and nondestructive examination, and/or quality control systems. Requires familiarity with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards and Boiler & Pressure Vessel (BPV) Code standards. Requires National Board Authorized Inspector Commission with "B" Endorsement.
