Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Project Accountant to join our Regional Finance team. In this role, you will provide critical support in managing the financial aspects of engineering projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely from the East Coast and/or an office alongside a team of dedicated professional engineers, scientists, planners, and designers. Our team collaborates with both public and private clients across industries such as transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy, as well as federal, state and local governments. Responsibilities - Prepare and process client invoices and contract documents - Maintain client and subconsultant contracts - Assist with project setup and budgeting, including review of contract compensation and billing methods - Maintain accurate project financial records and billing files - Provide internal and external support related to tracking and collection of project accounts receivable - Coordinate with subconsultants and vendors regarding accounts payable - Research and resolve client inquiries related to invoicing - Support the Finance team and Project Managers with additional finance and contract related tasks as needed Skills and Attributes - Solid knowledge of accounting, finance, and billing principles, methods, and procedures - Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Strong project, client, and time management skills - Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, customer service, and organizational abilities - Self-starter who can independently identify and pursue solutions with minimal direction - Ability to adapt to new tasks, work assignments, and diverse personalities - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or equivalent field - 4+ years of relevant experience (preferably in an Engineering, Architecture or Construction environment) - Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint a plus - Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina or Florida location preferred - 10% travel required for collaboration and business support (our expectation would be a physical office visit for 2 days per quarter or as required by the needs of the business) We are VHB!
