MBL Technologies is seeking a Cybersecurity Senior Consultant will support a compliance program responsible for reviewing third party systems and users' security posture and readiness to safeguard and protect sensitive program and patient data. The consultant will support the assessment and validation of system controls, develop documentation, and execute the necessary processes to ensure that information technology (IT) systems meet federal and organization requirements in compliance with NIST and FISMA and other applicable standards. The consultant will work with IT system teams to identify risks, achieve compliance plans, and communicate recommendations for improvement. The role will join teams of assessors and penetration testers in the completion of compliant and timely assessment efforts. Telework. Eastern Standard Time (EST) work hours Key Responsibilities: - Provides cybersecurity guidance for systems development, analysis and design, network design, and security engineering. - Conducts cybersecurity risk assessments (and associated activities) of networks and systems. - Conducts cyber threat assessment activities to include research of persistent threats. - Uses both classified and unclassified information to create cyber security intelligence products and threat assessments and briefs senior leaders. - Provides cyber intelligence analysis, including the reviews of classified and unclassified cyber news feeds, signature updates, incident reports, threat briefs, and vulnerability alerts from external sources and to determine its applicability to the customer environment. - Develops and authors information security/privacy documentation. - Researches and participates in the selection, evaluation, implementation, and management of security support systems (including threat assessment support systems and sources). - Supports the development of cybersecurity policies and standard operating procedures. - Supports cyber threat assessment activities to include research of persistent threats. - Proposes, develops, and executes technical and business process solutions. - Responsible for multiple project output and deliverables. - Serves as Information Security Subject Matter Expert. - Participate on compliance and vulnerability assessments on a broad range of systems, including Windows, Linux, networks, databases, virtual environments, applications, and Web servers. - Review systems for compliance with NIST Risk Management Framework principles. - Ability to learn manual and automated methodologies to identify and assess information security. - Ability to identify and prioritize risk findings. - Communicate training and education of information security principles. Skills & Qualifications: - 3+ years' experience supporting information security. - Understanding of key NIST information security and RMF principles and best practices. - Ability to be an active participant on assessment teams. - Possess a "can-do" attitude, and be committed to working in a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative team environment - BS/BA degree (required). - Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.
