Role Description We are seeking a Distinguished Strategic Advisor, a senior field-facing leadership role designed for someone who thrives in complex, high-impact customer engagements and has the credibility to work as a peer to CISOs, CIOs, and Chief Architects. You’ll serve as a technical and strategic advisor to Okta’s most important customers. You’ll guide enterprise identity strategies, evangelize best practices, and influence product direction through direct customer feedback and regional insight. Your ability to connect architecture with business outcomes will help customers de-risk transformation and accelerate innovation using identity as the foundation. What you’ll be doing - Strategic Customer Engagement: - Act as a technical executive sponsor for a portfolio of strategic accounts, with deep involvement in roadmap alignment and solution planning. - Help customers align identity strategy to transformation initiatives like Zero Trust, hybrid cloud, workforce modernization, and digital trust. - Drive influence by shaping identity vision across the full stakeholder spectrum, from IT to security to business. - Technical Leadership: - Guide the design of modern identity architectures, integrations, and risk-based approaches to access control. - Translate product capabilities into clear, actionable technical strategies that fit customer maturity and architecture constraints. - Provide hands-on architectural guidance and lead deep technical conversations on implementation trade-offs, scalability, and integration. - Field Enablement and Collaboration: - Partner with Specialists, Architects, and SE leaders to provide technical oversight on high-complexity deals. - Partner with sales leadership to identify and address critical business opportunities and challenges. - Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of global initiatives. - Innovate in tools and techniques to drive excellence and momentum. - Market Influence: - Represent Okta in analysts, press, customer briefings, executive meetings, and technical forums across industry verticals. - Provide thought leadership on identity modernization and enterprise architecture through blogs, sessions, and industry standards through participation in relevant technical advisory boards. - Share regional learnings and customer patterns to inform cross-functional strategy across Product, Marketing, and Sales. - Innovation and Strategy: - Identify and incubate repeatable solution patterns that can scale across segments and regions. - Serve as a key technical voice in defining how Okta’s platform evolves to support complex enterprise environments. - Participate in product ideation, beta programs, and strategic roadmap conversations with Product and Engineering. Qualifications - 15+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management roles, including Solutions Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, or related fields. - Deep expertise in identity, security, cloud computing, and digital transformation. - Ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders across sales cycles and long-term transformation programs. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience contributing to technical events. - Strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and enterprise customer needs. - Ability to effectively operate in a matrixed organization and manage cross-functional initiatives. - Passion for innovation, customer success, and advancing the field of identity.
