Role Description UnityPoint Health is hiring a summer Intern on our Supply Chain - Sourcing Strategy team! This opportunity provides experience working alongside the Executive Director of Contracting and the Contract Managers to support projects focused on contract review intakes, rebate compliance processes, and strategic sourcing protocols. Hours: Part-time, 20-25 hours/week between the hours of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Location: Remote - applicants preferably reside in the UPH geography of Iowa, Illinois, or Wisconsin Responsibilities - Assist with healthcare operations projects, including workflow analysis and process improvement. - Support corporate compliance and regulatory documentation. - Apply healthcare policies, industry trends, and best practices. - Help prepare reports, presentations, and data summaries for leadership teams. - Analyze, synthesize, and interpret data to inform client recommendations. - Use financial modeling to conduct in-depth analysis and recommend executable strategies. - Lead information gathering efforts. - Draft project analysis and deliverables. - Communicate project progress and seek input. - Develop in-depth technical expertise. - Participate in meetings with cross-functional departments (finance, HR, IT clinical operations). - Contribute to initiatives focused on patient experience, quality improvement, and organizational efficiency. - Provide administrative support and project management oversight, while building stakeholder relationships and strengthening organizational initiatives. - Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders, department leadership, and peers to stay informed about current healthcare and human services trends. - Understand the integration of business practices with patient care delivery. - Gain exposure to healthcare leadership and corporate governance. - Acquire practical knowledge of healthcare administration and corporate operations. - Develop professional competencies in project management, compliance, and strategic planning.
