Role Description The mission of the Head of Value Attainment is to build and lead the function that proves and scales Ambience's clinical and financial impact. You will own the infrastructure, methodology, and team required to operationalize value measurement across care settings — transforming bespoke analyses into a repeatable, defensible measurement system used consistently across our enterprise customer base. This is a Director / Senior Director level role. You will: - Stand up a scalable value measurement system. - Transition Ambience from bespoke customer analyses to a repeatable measurement framework — with documented methodologies, standardized data specs, and reusable pro forma models that enable rapid customer configuration without reinventing frameworks. - Define precise, defensible metrics across core impact areas, with clear calculation logic that holds up with sophisticated health system stakeholders. - Support readiness for performance-based and outcomes-linked contracts. - Build the financial models, measurement frameworks, and operational guardrails needed to structure and monitor these deals across customer profiles. - Drive automation and scalability. - Build and maintain cross-customer benchmarking that informs commercial strategy and strengthens the value narrative across the enterprise portfolio. - Serve as an external-facing subject matter expert — joining customer and prospect calls, presenting to senior RCM and finance audiences, and defending methodology and attribution with confidence and nuance. - Build and lead the Value Attainment team. - Embed measurement early in the product lifecycle. Qualifications - You have 7+ years of experience in analytics, product analytics, data science, or implementation consulting, with clear progression from hands-on analysis into systems-building and team leadership. - You are a systems thinker who designs scalable, repeatable processes from ambiguous or manual workflows, building durable infrastructure that supports growth without linear headcount expansion. - You have a track record of building repeatable measurement systems or infrastructure from scratch, including designing the frameworks, writing the specs, and operationalizing the work. - You have experience owning roadmaps and translating business requirements into clear specs that engineering and data teams can execute against. - You are an automation-first thinker consistently looking for ways to eliminate manual work and are comfortable prototyping with AI tools. - You have strong commercial judgment and understand how value measurement shapes commercial outcomes. - You bring direct people management experience, including hiring and developing talent. - You're energized by the player-coach dynamic. - You are a strong written communicator — able to produce data specs, methodology documentation, and executive-ready analysis with equal precision. - You have experience operating cross-functionally with Data, Engineering, Product, and Commercial teams in a high-growth environment. - You are comfortable defending methodology and results with senior executives. Requirements - Healthcare finance experience (e.g., revenue cycle, reimbursement mechanics, payer analytics, value-based care) or broader healthcare experience spanning clinical outcomes, quality measurement, population health, or operational efficiency. - Experience at a health tech company, payer, health plan, or healthcare-focused consulting firm. - Familiarity with gainshare, performance-based, or outcomes-linked contract structures and the measurement and attribution challenges they create. - Background in financial modeling or data science sufficient to review and challenge methodology. - Experience working with large health systems where analytical rigor and defensibility are table stakes. Benefits - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents. - 401(k) with a company match of up to 3% of base salary. - A remote-friendly culture (with a San Francisco HQ) and full equipment provisioning. - Parental leave to support your family needs. - Annual company-wide off-sites, team off-sites and regular team lunches and all-hands gatherings, with travel, lodging and meals covered. - Flexible time off with no annual cap, company-wide holidays, and an annual holiday shutdown from December 24–January 1.
