Field Application Engineer, Interconnect
Ciena
• Provide pre-sales technical leadership for Ciena's Interconnects portfolio across hyperscalers, OEMs, and AI/compute system partners. • Lead lab bring-up, debug, interoperability validation, configuration, and performance testing. • Translate customer system architectures and requirements into technical solutions and roadmap inputs. • Support quoting decisions, technical documentation, product collateral, compliance materials, and solution configuration. • Partner with BD and account teams to guide complex design-win cycles from evaluation to production. • Serve as primary technical interface for proof-of-concepts (POCs), interoperability events, compliance, and early deployments. • Deliver technical workshops, product demos, architecture sessions, and executive-level technical briefings. • Provide competitive intelligence, ecosystem developments, and silicon/optics trends to influence PLM and roadmap alignment. • Support post-sales issue triage with R&D, sustaining engineering, and quality teams — ensuring customer success during scale-up. • Advocate for customer requirements while balancing PLM strategy, roadmap alignment, and commercial constraints.
Job Requirements
- 7–12 years in FAE, solutions engineering, high-speed hardware, optical interconnect, silicon bring-up, or datacenter systems engineering.
- Deep familiarity with one or more of: DSP/retimer, SERDES, optics/pluggables, AEC/ACC, PCIe, Ethernet, high-speed test equipment.
- Experience working directly with hyperscalers (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, etc.) and/or major OEMs (Cisco, Arista, HPE/Juniper, etc.).
- Hands-on debugging with oscilloscopes, BERTs, IBIS-AMI, simulation, or signal integrity tools.
- Ability to engage simultaneously at engineering depth and executive clarity.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar required; MS preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills — able to translate between engineering, PLM, and commercial audiences.

The Opportunity: The Conventional Underwriter will evaluate and analyze residential loan applications in line with investor, agency, and internal standards. Scrutinize loan documentation for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria, thereby reducing the potential for risk or loss for the company. Must also collaborate effectively with wholesale brokers, Account Executives, and Operations personnel. This is a Full-Time/Remote opportunity with varying working hours across UW time zones Monday-Friday offering competitive pay ranging from $37.01 to $44.23 hourly plus bonus. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct a meticulous and precise examination of all loan documents, including the AUS decision report, credit report, various income sources including complex personal and business tax returns, assets, preliminary title report, appraisal, purchase agreement, escrow instructions, occupancy verification, and checks for red flags and potential fraud. - Enter data into DU/LP systems and execute the final AUS assessment. - Uphold the quality and production benchmarks established by management. - Review underwriter files and resolve conditions on loans with exceptional attention to detail and an urgent approach for the benefit of our customers. - Accurately input loan data and decisions into the current operating system. - Scrutinize transaction matrices and both internal and investor overlays to guarantee adherence to investor guidelines. - Implement and uphold fraud detection methods. Solicit additional information/documentation as needed and identify risk factors that may undermine the overall quality of the loan file. - Assist in resolving any pre-funding or post-purchase loan discrepancies by collaborating with the post-closing department to address any unresolved conditions or issues. - Communicate loan decisions clearly, either verbally or via email, in a professional and constructive manner to foster strong working relationships with coworkers and customers. - Maintain regular communication with brokers and sales personnel to ensure prompt responses to inquiries while exemplifying exceptional customer service skills.
