About the Role: This position will be an in-house generalist role responsible for building and maintaining frameworks and processes which ensure the company adheres to its compliance requirements as well as supporting the Go-To-Market function negotiating Master Services Agreements and related contracts. There will be an emphasis on Privacy and Security standards and additional engagement with other areas driven by business needs. Preference for candidates in the following metros: Houston TX, Kansas City MO, Orlando FL, Rogers AR, although qualified Remote candidates will be considered. Responsibilities: - As a privacy subject matter expert, maintain processes and remain up to date on legal and regulatory changes to facilitate compliance - Present management recommendations on operationalizing initiatives - Interface with internal stakeholders to gather inputs/requirements and engage in dialogue with external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, and clients, as required - Review and negotiate client and vendor contracts to ensure alignment with company policies - Assist in managing insurance portfolio - Engage in cross-functional discussions to advise other departments including Technical, Marketing, and Sales - Support incident response efforts by assessing privacy impact, coordinating investigations, and managing required breach notifications - Develop and deliver privacy training programs and awareness initiatives to promote a culture of compliance across the organization Requirements: - Minimum Qualification: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree - 5-10 years’ experience negotiating IT/SaaS contracts and handling privacy matters - Demonstrated experience building or maintaining processes/frameworks fostering company compliance, preferably in a high growth private company setting - Knowledge of privacy laws required, especially for EU, US, Canada, UK - Must have prior experience engaging directly with clients and/or external stakeholders - Experience in insurance matters would be considered an asset - Experience managing personnel would be considered an asset - Self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving and process improvement Cyderes is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE). This attorney must be sensitive to and have experience working with unaccompanied minors and victims of trauma. In addition to appearing on behalf of detained unaccompanied children in court, this attorney will work closely with legal assistants who will provide Know Your Rights presentations and preliminary legal screenings to children in the detention shelters. This role will work approximately 20 hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities: Direct Legal Services: - Assist with representation to children (both detained and released children) as needed in immigration matters such as asylum, SIJS, U Visas, T Visas, and voluntary departure, including those in removal proceedings. Team support: - Review legal screenings conducted by legal assistants to determine children's preliminary eligibility for immigration relief. - Communicate regularly with the legal team regarding the status of children in detention, advocate for best interests of the child regarding placements upon release. - Participate in staff development and training opportunities provided by JFCS, maintain attorney license, and stay abreast of changes in policies and procedures. **JOB SUMMARY** The Legal Specialist supports the daily processes required for compliance with government regulations and client specifications, including accreditation. The position requires research of legislation, regulation, and guidance affecting the health care, insurance, and related industries. Assistance with monitoring internal training requirements and assistance with security protocols is regularly performed. The Legal Specialist will assist with the review of contracts as requested, including proofreading, suggested edits, and potential issue spotting.
