Job Description

Retirement Plan Consultant

Strongpoint Partners

• Support a Senior Consultant with all aspects of annual plan administration. • Perform census scrubs, payroll/data reconciliations, and year-end data reviews. • Prepare and/or assist with annual compliance testing, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), 415, and other nondiscrimination testing. • Assist with preparation and review of valuation reports and participant statements. • Prepare draft Form 5500 filings and gather supporting documentation. • Communicate with clients regarding data needs, deadlines, and follow-up items in a professional and timely manner. • Assist with participant distribution and loan requests by coordinating with the Operations and Participant Support teams. • Research plan provisions, document requirements, and regulatory questions under the direction of a Senior Consultant. • Maintain accurate records and workflow updates within internal systems. • Stay current on ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations through internal training and self-study. • Support auditors for plans subject to annual audit by preparing requested documents and schedules. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing of contributions, payroll updates, and compliance items. • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in 401(k) or retirement plan administration (or relevant financial/analytical experience).
  • Basic understanding of retirement plan operations; familiarity with testing concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with Relius or other administration systems preferred.
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow detailed procedures.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • ASPPA/NIPA coursework or desire to pursue credentials strongly preferred.
